- Norman, Alfred Lloyd Driver. Enlisted with the 29th Battery at Guelph. Born at Ingersoll and lived at Kitchener and Galt. Anglican. He received a Gun Shot Wound in the head and died of it on August 8, 1917 at the age of nineteen years. He served for thirteen months. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman of Galt. Mr. Norman is the school inspector for South Waterloo. Educated at Kitchener Collegiate Institute and Galt Collegiate Institute.1a

- Former Hespeler Resident Was Caught With Prussian Guards

Galt, Ont., Jan 1 \endash School Inspector L. Norman of this city has received a letter from his son, Gunner L. Norman, in which he tells of a former Hespelerite by the name of Harbeck being recognized in a batch of Prussian guards who had surrendered. Harbeck had lived in Hespeler a number of years, and shortly after the outbreak of war disappeared. He was recognized by a Hespeler soldier.
