The Mennonite, January 7, 2003, pages 25-26, Vol. 6, No. 1. _____________________ BAUMAN, Alson Carl Peacefully. at his residence, Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Thursday, November 28, 2002, age 89 years and formerly of Kitchener. Loving husband of Ethel (nee Schmitt). Dear father of Sandra and her husband Bob Johnstone of Kitchener. Brother of Salome Brubacher of Guelph. Mr. Bauman was a member of First Mennonite Church. Kitchener, the Canadian Bible Society and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Alson served as a missionary to northern Ontario during the 1930's and over the years used his gifts as an artist and storyteller to promote Christian education in churches and schools. Predeceased by his parents, Enoch and Susanah Bauman; a brother, Melvin and sisters, Viola, Irene andSelinda. Mr. Bauman's family will receive friends at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Drive, Cambridge, this evening (Monday) 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at Fairview Mennonite Home Chapel with Pastors Gary Knarr and Mark Diller Harder officiating.
