    • Benedickt Ibele, Sr., of Swan Street, Ayr, passed away in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, June 10th. He was in his 79th year. Born in Germany, he came to Canada nearly 60 years ago. Formerly a caretaker at Ayr Public School and Knox United Church, Ayr. After retirement operated for a time a woodworking business in a shop he built on Swan Street, Ayr (now Ayr Carpentry). He was a member of Dolman Lodge I.O.O.F., Ayr. Survived by two sons, Stewart of Mattawa and Ben Jr. of Ayr; a daughter Mrs. Nancy Joron of Oakville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also brothers Hugo and Franz and sister Theresa of Germany. Predeceased by his wife, the former Lily Eichler in 1972. Funeral service was held at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. George Saunders of Knox United Church, Ayr, officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Hammer, Don Hammer, Ed. Hachey, Bud Campbell, Mark Joron and Bill Breau.
