  C. D. Kent Many New Hamburg friends were shocked to learn of the death of Mr. C. D. Kent, which occurred at his home in Durham following an attack of pneumonia. The late Mr. Kent was manager of the local branch of the Standard Bank for several years and after the merger with the Bank of Commerce he was transferred two years ago as manager of the Durham branch of the Bank of Commerce. During his residence in New Hamburg he made many friends who were grieved to hear of his demise. The deceased was born in Kingston 49 years ago and had been in the service of the former Standard Bank for thirty years. He was married to Miss Ila Stephens of Chatham, who with two sons, William and John, are left to mourn him. He is also survived by his mother and two sisters. The funeral was held at Chatham on Sunday. Among those who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Meyers, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hahn and Mr. Don Merner from this town.
