      Ruth Doud of Cambridge. lost her best friend and husband, on Sunday morning. December 21, 2003. Gerald Woodburn Doud, was in his 81st year, as he passed peacefully in his sleep. Susan, Robert, Judy, Karen, Willy and Mikey, will miss him very much. Family and friends have lost a kind, hard working and very caring, loving man. Jerry touched many people's lives and we know their thoughts are with us at this time. Jerry was born in Harrisburg, Ont., south of St. George, in 1923 on January 5. His early years were spent on a farm in Branchton and later he moved into Cambridge (Galt). He fell in love with Ruth Carey, from Blair, in his mid teens. They married, lived and worked in Cambridge, for 61 years. Jerry worked for Babcock and Wilcox and the Waterloo Region District School Board. He was a member of the Preston Legion and a veteran of the Second World War. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Eva Doud of Branchton; his son, Brian Doud of New Brunswick: his brother, Norman Doud of Puslinch. Jerry is survived by his wife, Ruth Doud (Carey) of Cambridge: his daughter, Judith Doud and Susan Fox of Cambridge: his grandchildren, Karen Ancich of Kitchener. Amanda Raynor of Ottawa, Nancy Glass of Vancouver, David Fox of Cambridge: his great-grandchildren, Zachary, Charles and Quintessa Raynor of Ottawa, Mikey and William Ancich of Waterloo: his sister, Norah Lockie (Albert) of Branchton; his brother. Bruce Doud (Anne) of North Dumfries; his brother-in-law, Bob Carey (Lee) of Nova Scotia; his sister-in-law, Gwen Carey (Dave) of Wiarton: his cousin, Frank Doud of Paris and his niece, Doreen Tschanz from Puslinch.
