    • Hubbard Cornell

      PRESTON, Dec. 28 -- Hubbard Cornell, known to many in Preston as "Hub," died in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday. He was 78. Mr. Cornell suffered a stroke in June and had been ailing since that time. He had been in hospital several days. For some time he had resided at Central Hotel, Preston. Born in Blue Vale, Ont., near Wingham, the deceased came to Preston in his youth. The deceased was one of 11 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubbard CornelL The late Mr. Cornell was an ardent fisherman. A metal worker, he was employed at Clare Bros., all his life. He was identified with the United Church. Four sisters and five brothers predeceased him. Surviving is one brother, Wesley Cornell of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 3: 30 p.m. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Preston.
