  • Notes
    • ENNS, Ingeborg Hedwig (née Gutberlet) It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Oma, aunt and friend on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 9 p.m. in Halifax. At the age of 91, she died quietly in her room at St. Vincent's Nursing Home in the loving arms of her eldest daughter, Esther, and has gone to join the rest of her family who predeceased her and guided her peacefully to her eternal rest. Inge Gutberlet was born on February 10, 1922 to Wilhelm and Hedwig (Rohrbach) Gutberlet in Hohenlimburg/ Westphalia, Germany. In 1953, she immigrated to Canada, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax and then travelling on to marry Eric Enns in Waterloo, Ontario. She spent most of her adult life in Waterloo raising her family, and independently pursuing an active intellectual and spiritual life. In 2009, her daughter and son-in-law invited her to join their family in Halifax. Inge tragically lost her son, Philip, in 1977, and her younger daughter, Barbara Kuehn, in 2008. She was widowed in 2004 when she lost her dear husband, Eric. She was also predeceased by her two sisters in Germany, Gertraud Schürholz, in 1995, and, Barbara Gutberlet, on April 14, 2013. She leaves to mourn her devoted daughter, Esther Enns, and loving son-in-law, Jim Connolly. She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Horst Kuehn and three grandchildren, Stephanie (Kuehn) Legdon, Roland Kuehn and Tristan Kuehn, all of London, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew in Germany, Jochen Schürholz, the Connolly family as well as relatives of the Enns family both in Canada and Germany. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ingeborg with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Mann of W-K United Mennonite Church officiating. A reception will then be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home with burial to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Condolences for the family and donations to the Kitchener Public Library or the Patrick Power Library of Saint Mary's University - may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo or at 519-745-8445.
