  • Notes
    • In the summer of 1882, grandfather Charles Findlay (who was a councillor for the County of Shoal Lake with head office at Birtle), while helping some of the newer immigrants to locate their homesteads, decided that the N 1/2 of Sec. 20, Twp 17 Range 24 was not a bad piece of land. As a result he acquired it as his second homestead.

In 1905 father, Jacob B. Findlay (better known as Jabe or J.B.) married Margaret Dunseith and moved into their new house on this piece of land. They had four children: Dad and Mother (Jabe and Maggie) lived on this farm until Mother?s death in 1941. In 1942, when Lloyd decided to enlist, Irene and I (Cliff) moved back to the farm to be with Dad.
