  James Lloyd Daniel referred to as "Mr. Chips of Galt" was a part of the educational system of Galt for 39 years. He was educated of the Preston Pulic School and the Galt Collegiate School, later Hamilton Normal School. He taught school starting at Clearview School and teaching at others, he also became a principal before retiring in 1953.
