    • James Perry Thomson Passes - One of Washington district's best known residents, James Perry Thomson passed away early Tuesday following a brief illness. The late Mr. Thomson, who had recently undergone surgery, was 60 years of age. He was born at Washington, a son of the late J. J. Thomson and Alice Perry, and had lived on the family farm, on the 12th concession, all of his life. The late Mr. Thomson was a valued member of Washington United Church. He was also a popular figure in the social life of the community, and took a keen interest in curling. Mr. Thomson was a member of the Blenheim Plowmen's Association and a representative on the Blenheim Planning Board. Surviving besides his wife, the former Minota Richmond, are two sons, William of Plattsville and Ian at home; three daughters, Bette and Joyce at home, and Mrs. James (Kay) Swan of Wingham; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Main and Mrs. Jean Guthrie of Plattsville and Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Harmer of Galt; two brothers, George of Plattsville and Frank of Washington. Four grandchildren also survive. - The Funeral - Friends will be received at the Glendinning Home, Plattsville, where service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Craig Railton will officiate. Donations to the Washington United Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Interment will be made in Ayr Cemetery.
