      At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 74 years, on Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, after a very courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes. Ken leaves behind his wife and best friend of 54 years, Phyllis; loved father of Bonnie and her husband Bill Rothon of Cameron, Ontario and grandson, Christopher and his family; Michelle and great-grandson, baby, Matthew. Also survived by two sisters, Florence Sargeant and Margaret Zeller, both of Kitchener. Predeceased by brothers, Harold, Herb and Leonard and two sisters, Vera Carter and Ethel Kolb. Mr. Beitz served overseas in the Second World War and was retired from Dover Flour Mills. The family will received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998 at 10 a.m. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8: 30 p.m.
