  Trapp, Marilyn (Mrs. Gordon) - Peacefully, on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Marilyn (Miller) Trapp in her 72 year, of Elmira. Beloved wife of Gordon Trapp. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Richard and Helen of Elmira. Special grandma to Ashley. Loving sister of Richard Miller of Kitchener and sister-in-law of Carol and Wayne Weiberg of Waterloo and Jean Trapp of RR 21, Elmira. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Marieta (Bricker) Miller; her son, Michael (1995) and her brother, David Miller. At Marilyn's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira for a memorial visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Trinity United Church, Elmira on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Jagger officiating. In her memory donations to Mike Trapp Scholarship Fund for Big Brothers or Trinity United Church would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses on 8th Floor Oncology Department of Grand River Hospital who cared for her so well. The Record, March 6, 2006 ________________ Marilyn Faye Trapp, October 23, 1934 - March 5, 2006 In 1934 a beautiful baby girl was born to Charles and Marieta Miller. They named her Marilyn Faye and her journey began. Although Marilyn seemed to be a normal little girl, it became apparent as she grew that something was unusual. At first, people didn't notice much, since Marilyn seldom stole the spotlight. She seemed to prefer to stay in the background while looking after all the little things that made everything else run smoothly. Marilyn developed an uncanny ability to befriend anyone she came across. This feat allowed her to blend into any crowd no matter how disparate. This would serve her well later in life as she became involved in many different organizations and activities. When Marilyn got a little older she met a handsome young man named Gordon. She married him and had two baby boys they named Richard and Michael. She loved them all very much and endeavoured to become the best wife and mother she could possibly be. She succeeded. Amazingly, Marilyn still had more to give. She set about volunteering for many different causes. Her love of her earlier teaching career led her to the Sunday School program at church and also the Junior Choir. She spent time as a hockey mother when her sons were young. Volunteer work at the Maple Syrup Festival [Elmira] was added to the list. Each contribution was marked by an energy and commitment that few could match. People began to talk. They thought Marilyn was not normal. They marvelled at her kindness, always finding something good in everyone she met. How could she go through life with never a bad word about anyone? They were amazed at how many people she touched and they all seemed to be better people for having met her. When her journey was over, those who knew her best knew the truth. Marilyn had an abnormal heart. In fact, it was bigger than just about any heart in the world. Fortunately, for all of us, she knew exactly how to use it and because of that we have all been very blessed to have her in our lives.
