    • MRS. JOHN McVITTIE

      Mrs. John McVittie, a resident of Drumbo since 1924, died in Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 4th. She was in her 59th year.

      The youngest daughter of the late Samuel and Esther Parkhill, she was born at Cooley Pond, in Burford township. Following her marriage to John McVittie, who survives, she moved to the Blenheim - Dumfries townline. Later they kept store at Wolverton until it burned down in 1924, and then went to live in Drumbo.

      She was a member of Willis United Church, Drumbo, and besides taking a keen interest in the church was a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Ladies' Bowling Club.

      Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs.Ray Harmer and Mrs. Reginald Hodgson both of Drumbo, and two grand-children.


      The Funeral.

      The funeral, which took place from her late residence in Drumbo on Saturday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery, was largely attended. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. Rev. W. J. Moores was in charge of the services, and the pallbearers were five cousins and a nephew: John, Fred, Archie, Edwin, Albert and Hugh Parkhill. Many out-of-town friends and relatives were present from Detroit and Flint, Mich.; Hamilton, Norwich, Oshawa, Woodstock, Grimsby, Paris, Burford and Ayr.
