    • EASTON, Moreen (nee Opperthauser) \endash With great sadness the family of Moreen Easton of Welland announce her passing at her residence on Sunday, September 27, 2009 in her 92nd year. Moreen is predeceased by her beloved best friend and husband of sixty years, W. Bruce Easton (2002). She will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert (Joanne) and David (Beverly Robinson) all of Welland. Mrs. Easton will always hold a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy, Mark (Sandy) Easton of Etobicoke, Lora (Tavis) O'Neill of Pelham, Andrea Easton and Joshua Easton both of Welland. Her first great grandchild, Miles Easton, was the light of her life in recent months and she was very much looking forward to the birth of her second great-grandchild in November. Dear sister of late Homer Opperthauser (1989). Moreen met her future husband Bruce in Kitchener. They married during his service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Following the war, Moreen not only kept the homefires burning, but supported her husband in business as an insurance adjuster. Moreen also stayed active in the community with Kinettes and Meals on Wheels and was an avid gardener and quilter. The family will greet friends from 7 pm. until 8 pm. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice. Online condolences available at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com
