• Notes

  Flash from the Past: Kitchener band played at 1966 'Mall Days' ......Several readers phoned or emailed to identify band members they spotted in the photo. Cathy Stone emailed to say she spotted her late father, Wilmer Strome, playing the clarinet in the photo - just left of the conductor. Strome joined the band's boys' group in 1925 and was still playing with the adult band in 1991 when he died following a car accident on his way to a concert in Port Elgin....
