  Toddler killed in Waterloo parking lot Waterloo Region Record By Liz Monteiro WATERLOO - An 18-month-old boy is dead and a driver has been charged in his death after an SUV struck the child as he played in the parking lot of a housing complex Sunday evening. Mohamed Abdalla was in the parking lot of 39 Amos Ave., in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Erb Street West, just before 7 p.m. when he was struck by the vehicle. His mother and father were nearby, sitting in lawn chairs in front of their townhouse unit when they heard screams.
