  A-1-24 Corneli Berchly: Last Will and Testament of Corneli Berchly, of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, …In the name of God, Amen. I Corneli Berchly, of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, being weak in body but sound in mind and memory….(First) I comit[sic] my soul in the hands of my redimer[sic], and my body to be buried in a Christian order according with my profession of religion and station of life. Further, I ordain that my Executors shall collect all my outstanding debts and pay all creditors as soon after my decease as circumstances will permit of it. Further, I will and bequeath all my landed property to my beloved wife Regina, which she shall hold and possess during her natural life or so long as she remaineth my widow, but in case she should get married again she shall remove from the premises, and shall have no claim to the said premises, and the moveable and personal property shall be sold by my Executor at a Public Auction, but my widow shall have a right to select all such property in the house as she wishes to take for her own use and benefit before the property is sold. I authorize and empower my Executors to take all the money arising from my estate and personal property and put it on interest and the interest to be employed for the maintenance of my beloved widow Regina, and after her decease all the remaining property I will and bequeath to my sister Antonia Berchly residing in the Kingdom of Wertemberg in Germany, Europe. And I appoint for my sole Executor my trusty friend and "naibor" Joseph Roth of the Township of Waterloo… Witnessed by Michael Koesterer and I.B.
