  TOMAZ, Maria Amelia Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in her 83rd year. Survived by her husband Jose Tomaz, Loving mother of Joe of Port Hope and Manuel and wife Robin of Ayr, Fatima Nogueira of Cambridge and Elizabeth Arsenault and husband Joe of Cambridge. Also survived by her brothers; Jose Furtuna of Cambridge and Manuel Furtuna of Mass. and sister, Anna Faria of Mass. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Maria was born on January 28, 1927 in Faial, Azores and has lived in Cambridge for the past 50 years. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, on Thursday, October 22, 2009, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Parish Prayers to be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be held at St. Patrick's RC Church, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge, on Friday, October 23, 2009, at 11: 30 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery.
