- REMOVED TO PENITENTIARY
Ivan Petcoff Removed to Kingston to Serve Long Time
Is Till Deranged.
Ivan Petcoff, sentenced to life imprisonment for being implicated in the murder of John Morokaty at Galt last May left for Kingston Sat. morning where he will spend the remainder of his days in the penitentiary there. He was taken to the train by High Constable Charles Huber and Constable Davey who accompanied him on his journey. The time of his departure had not been made public and there was no crowd at the station as sometimes the case in such events.
Petcoff still remained in his mentally deranged state and did not seem to know where he was going. For many days he has not spoken to anyone. With the exception of this abnormality he appears otherwise sane.
Boyeff, his accomplice in the crime is still in his cell at the court house awaiting the day of his execution on on February 26. He remains calm and does not appear to be worrying about his fate. His spiritual needs are still being attended to by the Rev. H. M. Langford.
