Notes - BECHTEL, Gertrude Mary (nee Picco) - Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the age of 85. Loving wife of the late George Bechtel (1993) and dear mother to Brian and Lynn Bechtel of Cambridge and Grant and Frances Bechtel of Bradford. Gertrude will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Tammy, Stephanie and Scott, Kevin and Shonna, and Michael and Kyle. She loved her great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, Jena, Brent, Derek, Ben, Lucas, Izabel, Morgan, Josh and Nolan. Predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Picco from O'Donnells, Nfld., and an infant son, Dennis. Gertrude will be remembered for her spunk, energy, thoughtfulness and love of her family and friends. We would like to extend our gratitude to the caring staff and doctors on the 3rd and 5th floor at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. In accordance with Gertrude's wishes, cremation will take place immediately with no visitation or memorial service. A celebration of Gertrude's life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Cambridge Memorial Hospital would be appreciated and may be arranged by contacting the Westmount Funeral Chapel at 519-743-8900.
