Abraham Erb, "eldest son of Jacob G. and Catharine (Wenger) Erb, was born January 10th, 1825. In 1846 he was married to Fannie Frick. They reside in Clarence, Erie County, New York, where they had a family of three sons, namely: Henry, a farmer; Albert, a doctor; and Hiram, a farmer."

Jacob G. Erb, "the second son of Jacob Erb, was born September 30th, 1802. On April 10th, 1824, he was married in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Catharine Wenger who was born June 12th, 1800. She died November 13th, 1874, and he died January 2nd, 1885. After their marriage they resided in this county, near Berlin, but in 1837 they moved to New York State where he entered into the mercantile business for three years when, in 1840, he moved on a farm where he resided for eleven years. In 1851 he went into the mercantile business again, continuing the same for three years. Some time during the year 1854 he retired from business and entered the ministry. He was engaged in preaching for several years. He resided at Clarence, Erie County, New York. Their family consisted of six children"

Jacob Erb, "the fifth son of Christian and Maria (Scherch) Erb, was born in Warwick Township, Pennsylvania, January 25th, 1768. He was married to Salome Graybill who was born August 8th, 1778, and died May 6th, 1821. In 1806 they, in company with his brother Abraham and others, came to Canada and located on lot No. 17, German Company's Tract, a little to the west of Berlin. Here they resided until their deaths. He died March 20th, 1834, leaving a family of thirteen children"

Christian Erb, "was born in Warwick Township, in October, 1734. He was married, in 1756, to Maria Scherch. She was born in 1737. They resided in Warwich [Warwick] Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. When well advanced in years they came to Canada, and made their home with their daughter, Elizabeth (Mrs. Christian Schneider), who resided at Doon where they both died. He died July 7th, 1810, and she died August 17th, 1814. Both lie buried in the Blair cemetery. They had a family of twelve children, namely:...Of the twelve children of the family, seven, namely Abraham, Jacob, John, Magdalena, Anna, Mary, and Elizabeth, resided in Canada, and two of the children of Susannah, Mary and John."
