Obituary. It is our duty this week to chronicle the death of one of our citizens, Mr. Jacob Schrag, who received a stroke of paralysis on Friday, July 1st, from the effects of which he died the following Monday morning. The funeral took place last Wednesday forenoon, the remains being taken to the Amish Mennonite cemetery, west of Baden, for interment. Services were held in the church there. A large number of friends and acquaintances from and near attended the funeral. far Mr. Schrag had reached the age of 63 years, 1 month and 16 days. Mr. Schrag leaves a wife and grown up family to mourn his loss. He was employed at the oil mills here for a number of years as fireman, but latterly he served in the same position at the Hamburg wagon works We extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

Schrag. - Catherine Zehr was born June 14, 1843; died at her home in Baden, Ontario, December 1, 1922; aged 79 y. 5 m. 16 d. On March 11, 1862, she was united in marriage to Jacob Schrag. This union was blessed with seven children, three sons and four daughters. Her husband and one daughter preceded her to the great beyond. She united with the A. M. church in her seventeenth year and remained faithful to the end. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a kind neighbor and a true friend. She was much concerned about the welfare of her family and church. Her kind disposition was to many a comfort in times of grief. Grandmother was able to do her household duties until Tuesday, November 28, when she was found lying on the floor, suffering from a stroke, from which she gradually became weaker until death relieved her on Friday morning. The funeral was held December 3, from her late residence to Steinman's church and cemetery where a large concourse of relatives and friends gathered to pay their last tribute of respect. Services were conducted at the house by Christian Litwiller and by three of grandmother's nephews at the church.

ZEHR. - On the 3d of February, 1899, in Wellesley township, Waterloo Co., Ont., Michael Zehr, in his 87th year. Deceased was a member of the Amish Church and was highly esteemed. A large concourse of people followed the remains to the grave on the 6th, in the Amish cemetery on the farm of the deceased. He leaves an aged widow and grown up family to mourn their loss.
