    PENNER, Rudy Passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013, surrounded by his family, in his 82nd year. Loving husband to Judy and predeceased by his first wife Jean (nee Shoemaker). Dear father to Donna Wagler (Mike), Brenda Burek (Steve), Bob Penner (Terri) and the late Linda Penner. Beloved grandfather to 13 grandchildren; Kevin, Cindy, Amanda, Trista, Kayla, Cameron, Craig, Ryan, Justin, Aaron, Kayleigh, Nicole and Victoria and great-grandfather to Hayley and Ava. Born on May 3, 1931 in Kitchener, Ontario; Rudy was a life long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kitchener. For 60 years, he sang between the Male Jubilation Choir and the Holy Cross Male Chorus and Senior Choir. Rudy worked as an agent with State Farm Insurance for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved life and his greatest joy was sharing his mischievous antics with others, especially at his cottage. His goal was to create memories and you would always hear a story about "Uncle Rudy". Family and friends may visit the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West, Kitchener on Tuesday, March 12th from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in two weeks time on Tuesday, March 26th at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Avenue, Kitchener, with burial at Woodland Cemetery.     HENRY J. PENNER

    Henry John Penner, 16 Fairview Ave., died this morning at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 54 years of age.

    He was born in Russia, Aug. 23 1891. Mr. Penner was employed at Clare Bros. Foundry, Preston. He was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church and was secretary of the Mennonite Brethren Conference of Ontario for the past 13 years, resigning three months ago on account of ill health.

    He is survived by his wife, three sons, Victor, Herbert and Rudolph of Kitchener; three daughters Mrs. Abram (Helen) Goerz, Miss Erica Penner and Miss Anita Penner, all of Kitchener, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, George Penner of Sunnyside and a sister Mrs., John Tiessen of Hamilton.

    Remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until one o'clock Saturday afternoon where removal will be made to the Mennonite Brethren Church for service at three o'clock. Rev. H. H. Jensen will be in charge of the service. Internment will be at Woodland Cemetery.

    Mrs. Maria Penner

    Funeral service for Mrs. Maria Penner a. of 18 Fairview Ave., who died Monday in St. Mary's Hospital, will be conducted at the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church Thursday at 3 p.m. Rev. William J. Schmidt, minister of the church will officiate and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 1 p.m. when removal will be made to the church,

    Donations to the Gideons will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Born in Russia, Jan. 13, 1892, Mrs. Penner had lived in Kitchener for the past 33 years. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tiessen. was a member of the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church and a member of the Sewing Circle of the church.

    Her husband, Henry J. Penner, predeceased her in 1945.

    Surviving are three sons, Victor H., of Toronto and Herbert H and Rudy H. of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Abram (Helen) Goerz of Clearbrook, B.C., Mrs, Henry (Erica) Dick of Shafter, Calif.. and Mrs. Ray (Anita) Carrol of Hicksville, Long Island; two brothers, Abram Tiessen of Kitchener and Henry Tiessen of SL Catharines, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Heidebrecht of Red Deer, Alta., and Mrs. Tina Neufeld of Paraguay. Sixteen grandchildren also survive. She was also predeceased by two children in infancy.
