    LOREE, Rose M. E.

    At KW Hospital, on Sunday, Feb. 4, 1990, following a courageous struggle with cancer. Mrs. Rose Loree, of Waterloo, in her 82nd year. Rose was a member of Highland Road United Church. Loving mother of Pat and her husband Ron Keeling of Waterloo. Dennis Loree and his wife Marlene, Shirley and her husband Doug Maddick, all of Kitchener, George Loree and his wife Shirley of Waterloo; sister of Hilda (Mrs. Fritz Poser), Kay Brown, Fred Lehman and his wife Mary and Betty Boehm, all of Waterloo. Also sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Jill Keeling, Michael, Todd and Lisa Loree, Kevin and Bradley Maddick, Susan Schmidt, Tracey and Travis Loree and by nine great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Martha Lehman; her husband, Ira in 1987; three sisters, Margaret, Augusta and Frieda and one grandson, Jeffrey Maddick. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, today (Monday), from 2-4 and 7.9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev. Elizabeth Praamsma officiating. Interment Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo.

    Mrs. Werlich Dennis Passes - The funeral service for Mrs. Werlich Dennis of 29 Tamroth Close, Kitchener, was held from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, Monday. She died at St. Mary's Hospital Thursday following a brief illness. She was 78. The former Charlotte Cress, she was born in Ayr, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George cress. She lived in Kitchener for 20 years and was a member of Highland road United Church. She was predeceased by her first husband, burton Loree, in 1918 and her second husband Werlich Dennis, in 1951. Surviving are a son, Ira Loree of Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. J. D. (Margaret) Couch of Kitchener; a brother, Clarence Cress of Mississauga; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Bessie) Luce of London, Ont.`; Mrs. Elmo (Margaret) Robson of Toronto and Mrs. J. D. (Lena) Kaufman of Plattsville; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A son, three brothers and two sisters also predeceased her. Burial was in Ayr cemetery. Rev. A. E. Holley officiated at the service.

    Demise of Mr. Geo. H. Cress

    The death took place on Sunday, Dec . 23 at 5.20 a.m., of one of the best known and most highly respected residents of Ayr in the person of George Hudson Cress, in his 60th year. The deceased, who had been ill for about six months, was born near Blair and came to this village some 40 years ago, about which time he married Hannah Wismer, who survives. He was a carpenter and builder by trade and did a good deal of work in Ayr and vicinity, in municipal and educational affairs he invariably took deep interest, being a member of the Council for 15 or 16 years and of the School Board for a shorter period. In religion he was an adherent of the Presbyterian Church and in politics a Liberal. Besides his widow, he is survived by the following family: Mrs. Blackie, Ayr; Mrs. Loree, Kitchener; Mrs. Runstetler, Preston; Bessie, Margaret and Lena, at home; Geo. A., Calgary; Jack, WoIverton; Ernest and Clarence at home. The funeral took place from his late residence, Willison street, yesterday, at 2.30 p.m., Rev. J. J. Brown conducting the service.

    Death of Mrs. George Cress

    The death occurred, suddenly, in Toronto on Friday of Mrs. George Cress, in her 64th year. Mrs. Cress had gone to Toronto on the Sunday previous, in apparent good health, to visit her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Robson, and was taken ill on Thursday. In spite of all that medical aid could do, however, her condition became steadily worse and she passed away on the following day. She was born in Woolwich Township, but had lived in Ayr for the greater part of her life. Deceased was a member Of Knox United Church and was highly esteemed by many friends. She was a good neighbor and a kind mother. She is survived by the following family: George, Calgary; Mrs. W. Dennis, Kitchener; Mrs. H. Runstedler, Preston; Mrs. R. Luce, London; Mrs. G. Kaufman, Ayr; Mrs. E. F. Robson, Toronto; Clarence, London; John and Ernest, Ayr; also two grandchildren, Edward and James Blackie, Ayr. Three brothers also survive: Joseph Wismer, Ayr; William Wismer, St. Catharines, and Ben Wismer, Kitchener. The funeral took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon and was largely attended. The Rev. J. W. Currie conducted the services, and the pallbearers were as follows: John, Ernest and Clarence Cress, Ira and James Loree and W. Dennis.
