    Funeral Of Mrs. Betts.

    The funeral of Mrs. Betts took place at 10:30 o'clock this morning from her late residence, Calderwood. The service was held in St. John's church, Portsmouth, Rev. Mr. Dobbs and Rev. Mr. Crisp officiating. Rav. Mr. Dobbs in a short but touching address, referred to the life and virtues of the deceased lady. He spoke of her as one who had faithfully performed her duties and who, though not exempted from many severe afflictions in the death of those near and dear to her, yet lived a bright and happy life, supported by the love of her children. The ceremony being of a private nature, only immediate relatives and friends of the deceased were present The pall-bearers were: Dr. R. T. Walkem, Rev. Conway Cartwright, Lieut Col. Straubenzie, J. R. C. Dobbs, Carl Ford and Edward Ferris; and chief mourners, H. Betts, J. B. Walkem and F. P. Betts, London.

    Death Of Mrs. Betts.

    On Saturday morning the death occurred of Mrs. Betts, widow of the late Dr. H. A. Betts, Calderwood. Deceased was eighty-six years old. She was born in England, coming to this country in 1870. She is survived by: Mrs. J. B. Walkem, two unmarried daughters in Kingston; Mrs. (Rev.) O. G Dobbs, Brockville, and two sons, H. A. Betts, Kingeton, and F. P. Betts, barrister of London, Ont.

    She was an attendant of St. John's church, Portsmouth, and a liberal supporter of all church schemes. Her charity was proverbial, her good deeds being performed unostentatiously.
