One Fall day when his wife wanted a bit of bush earth to fill some flower pots, Duncan Arthur McLaren, old tried friend of mine, took a shovel and his wheel barrow and set out for Clemens' bush to get it. When he was passing Woods Terminal from which about sixty huge transports operate, one of the drivers called and asked Dunc. what he thought he was doing. With his "innate Hielan Courtesy", Dunc. stopped. Put down the barrow, faced the driver and politely informed him: "I am starting opposition to Woods, in a very modest way." And then he went along upon his mission.
