    ALICE M. WIDEMAN (nee Sainsbury) 1916 - 2006 Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on September 17, 2006, at Trinity Village Care Centre, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Emmanuel Wideman (December 22, 2003). Dear mother of Nancy Bignell and her husband Bill of Kitchener and Barry Wideman of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. Grandmother of William Ryan and Christopher Alan. Lovingly remembered by her sister, Bessie Johnson. Predeceased by her parents, Violet and William H. Sainsbury; her sister, Nellie; brother, George and her daughter-in-law, Peggy. Friends are invited to share their memories of Alice with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Alice's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 3 p.m., the Rev. Rick Hawley officiating. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.     Notes:

    The death occurred in Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday morning of William Henry Sainsbury, a long-time resident of Blenheim Township, aged 81 years. He had been confined to hospital for the past three weeks. A native of England, Mr. Sainsbury came to this country as a youth, and commenced working among farmers in this district, where he spent the remainder of his life. Later he married Violet Alice Prato, also a native of England, and the couple took up residence on the farm on the 12th concession now owned by Ross Livingston. Here they lived until retiring to Wolverton some six or seven years ago. Mr. Sainsbury remained in good health up until the time of his passing, although he had lost his sight about two years ago. A man of strong political opinions, Mr. Sainsbury was one of the Conservative mainstays in Blenheim Township for many years, and took an active part in Dominion and Provincial elections. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, George, at home; three daughters, Mrs. William Wait (Nellie) of Brantford, Mrs. Clarence Johnson (Elizabeth) of Waterloo and Mrs. Emmanuel Wideman (Alice) of St. Jacobs. Five grandchildren also sur-vive.

    The Funeral The funeral was held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m., with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. J. W. Currie officiated. The pallbearers were: Peter McDonald, Elmer Hiller, Herb. Hiller, Neil Hall, Hugh Guthrie and James Simpson.

    Sudden Passing of Mrs. Henry Sainsbury

    The death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Johnson, City of Waterloo, on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock of Mrs. Henry Sainsbury, aged 68 years. Mrs. Sainsbury had been ill for two months and suffered a heart attack on Wednesday preceding her passing. She was born in England, her maiden name being Violet Alice Prato. For many years the family resided on the 12th concession of Blenheim, one mile south of Perry's Corners, on the farm now occupied by Ross Livingston, and removed to Wolverton some nine years ago. She went to Waterloo to reside with her daughter about two or three months ago. Mrs. Sainsbury was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr. Her husband predeceased her eight months ago. Surviving are one son, George, and three daughters, Mrs. W. C. Johnson, Waterloo, Mrs. Wm. H. Wait, Brantford, and Mrs. Emmanuel Wideman, St. Jacobs The funeral will take place from the. W. 0. Ball Funeral Parlor, Ayr, on Friday at 2.30 p.m., with interment in Ayr Cemetery
