    Bender, Allan Y., son of Daniel Bender and Magdalena Yantzi, was born in East Zorra Township, Ont., on July 26, 1899; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont. of a heart ailment on Oct. 2, 1972; aged 73 y. 2 m. 6 d. On June 4, 1918, he was married to Veronica Lichty, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Delmar), 3 daughters (Madeline - Mrs. Alvin Roth, Jean, Grace - Mrs. Oliver Brunk), 9 grandchildren, and one sister (Elizabeth - Mrs. Nicholas Kuepfer). He was preceded in death by one son (Vernon), one brother, 3 sisters, and one grandchild. He was ordained minister on Apr. 27, 1952, of the Wellesley Mapleview Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Oct. 5, in charge of Alvin Leis and Jacob Roes; interment in adjoining cemetery.

    Bender, Rev. Allen Y. - of 141 Queen St. West, Wellesley, passed away suddenly, on Monday, Oct. 2, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, born in East Zorra Township, 73 years ago, husband of Veronica Lichti; dear father of Delmar, Route 2, Wellesley, Mrs. Alvin (Madeline) Roth of London, Jean of Elkhardt, Ind., and Mrs. Oliver (Grace) Brunk of Tavistock; brother of Mrs. Nicholas (Elizabeth) Kuepfer of Brunner; also survived by nine grandchildren. He was an ordained minister of the Maple View Mennonite Church, April 27, 1952, former Sunday school superintendent; predeceased by one son, Vernon, one brother, three sisters and one grandchild. The family will receive friends at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, this evening from 7 till 9, and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 till 9. At noon, Thursday, the body will be removed to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2: 30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Roes will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be shown by contributions to the Western Ontario Mennonite Mission Board or the Gideons.

    BENDER, Mrs. Alla (Veronica) Peacefully, on Tuesday, July 23, 1985, at her home, Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, Veronica Bender, of Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton and formerly of Wellesley, Mrs. Bender was born in Wellesley township, 90 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Magdalena Zehr. She was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church and was also in the WMSC of the church. Beloved mother of Delmar and his wife Mary of RR2, Wellesley, Madeline (Mrs. Alvin Roth) of London, Ont. and Miss Jean Bender of Elkhart, Ind., Grace (Mrs. Oliver Brunk) of Tavistock; dear sister of Martha (Mrs. Tom Coulter) of Listowel and Emma (Mrs. Aaron Gerber) of Crosshill; lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Allan Bender, October 2, 1972; by one son, Vernon, in 1927; five brothers; four sisters and one granddaughter. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 4o Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. At noon Friday, July 26, removal will be made to Maple View Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Alvin Leis and Deacon Alan Nafziger will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery

    LICHTI, Peter F. 1958

    Peter F. Lichti, R.R. 2 Wellesley, died Saturday, May 3, at the home of his son, Peter Z. Lichti. He was 96 years of age, and had not been in good health for some time. Born Nov. 7, 1861, in Wilmot township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Magdalena Fahrney Lichti. He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Maple View Amish Mennonite Church. His wife, the former Magdalena Zehr, died in 1945. He is survived by four sons, Christian Z., Millbank; Amos, Waterloo; Peter Z., Wellesley; Manasseh, in the United States; four daughters, Mrs. Allen (Fannie) Bender, Wellesley; Mrs. Christian (Lena) Gerber, Crosshill; Mrs. Allen (Martha) Leis, Milverton; Mrs. Aaron (Emma) Gerber, Crosshill. One son died in infancy. Fifty grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren also survive. The body rested at the home of his son, Peter Lichti, Wellesley, where a service was held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Maple View Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. with Bishop Christian Streicher officiating. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Zehr. - Pre. Christian B. Zehr was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., Aug. 19, 1842; died July 29, 1928; aged 86 y. 11 m. 10 d. He was married to Veronica Schultz. To this union were born 7 children, 5 of whom survive. He leaves 5 children, 28 grandchildren, and 44 great-grandchildren. He was a preacher for a number of years in the Amish Mennonite congregation at Wellesley, Ont. He had been in failing health for a number of years. Funeral services were held at his home Aug. 1, 1928.
