I have attended to your directions in respect to the Common Seal, which has been engraved by Mr. George Lee of Galt, in a highly crediable manner, and at as little cost as it could probably have been obtained in any part of America. I thought it right to have the seal engraved by an inhabitant of the distric rather than employing a person living at a distance, more particlarly as as upon inquiry, I ascentained that there was every prospect of the work being satisfactorily performed. Before using the seal it will be advisable to pass a By-law to authorise the form.
