    SNYDER, Cleason G. -- At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, Feb. 14, 1985, Cleason G. Snyder, age 72 years, of 513-515 Langs Drive, Cambridge and formerly of RR 1, Waterloo. Mr. Snyder was a member of Bloomingdale Mennonite Church. He had farmed all his life in the Waterloo area, was a partner and director of the K-W Stockyards Ltd., a former member of the Twin City Milk Producers, the Waterloo Federation of Agriculture and the Waterloo Township Planning Board and School Board. Beloved husband of the former Myrtle Weber; dear father of John and Linda and Grant and Bonnie of RR2, West Montrose, Paul and Marjorie of Neustadt, George and Brenda of RR1, West Montrose, Eunice and Sonny Derowin of Mississauga, Miriam and Jack Biernacki of Breslau, Ruth and Tom McMann of Owen Sound, Susan and Ron Taniguchi of Edmonton, Alta., and Gloria and Alden Gibson of Breslau; brother of Nelson and Roy of Waterloo, Joseph of Cambridge, Minerva (Mrs. Roy Brubacher) and Erma (Mrs. Cleason Horst), both of St. Jacobs. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Leah and Edwin Snyder and one brother Orville. Mr. Snyder's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, At noon on Monday removal will be made to the Bloomingdale Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. (Monday), with Rev. Orland Gingerich and Rev. Bertha Landers officiating. Interment to follow in the Bloomingdale Mennonite cemetery.

    Snyder, Cleason G., died at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge, Ont., Feb. 14, 1985; aged 72 y. He was married to Myrtle Weber, who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons (John, Grant, Paul, and George), 5 daughters (Eunice-Mrs. Theder Derowin, Miriam-Mrs. Jack Biernacki, Ruth-Mrs. Tom McMann, Susan-Mrs. Ron Taniguchi, and Gloria-Mrs. Alden Gibson), 15 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Nelson, Roy, and Joseph), and 2 sisters (Minerva-Mrs. Roy Brubacher and Erma-Mrs. Cleason Horst). He was preceded in death by one brother (Orville). He was a member of Bloomingdale Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Feb. 18, in charge of Orland Gingerich and Bertha Landers; interment in the Bloomingdale Mennonite Church Cemetery.

On Dec. 5, 1911 he was united in marriage to Leah Gingrich. Surviving are 7 children (Cleason, Nelson, Roy, Minerva-Mrs. Roy Brubacher, Erma, Orville, and Joseph), one brother (Ephraim, St. Jacobs, Ont.), and 4 sisters (Leah-Mrs. John Martin, Linwood, Ont.; Lucinda-Mrs. Daniel Martin, Floradale, Ont.; Anna-Mrs. Noah Horst, Elmira, Ont.; and Fannie-Mrs. Ishmael Martin, Conestoga, Ont.). One son (Loren), one daughter (Vera), and 3 brothers (Noah, Simeon, and Joseph) predeceased him. Early in life he united with the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the St. Jacobs Church, April 30, in charge of Roy S. Koch and Jesse B. Martin. Interment was made in the Conestoga Cemetery.

She united with the Mennonite Church in her youth and remained faithful until death. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church on June 14 by Roy S. Koch, assisted by O. D. Snider, of Elmira. Interment was made in the Conestoga Cemetery at Three Bridges.

    Moses Gingerich

    On Tuesday of this week death removed one of this district's oldest and most valued residents in the person of Moses Gingerich, whose demise was caused through a hardening of the arteries. He had been ill for sometime, and passed away at the home of his on Eli on the Fourth Line of Peel. He was born in Woolwich township on the Henry Gingrich farm, situated below Elmira, and was a lifelong member of the Mennonite church. Forty-five years ago, he was married to Mollie Hallman. After living for five years on the farm now occupied by Ephraim Martin, Mr. Gingerich moved to the homestead on which he resided until the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, four sons, Orias of Guernsey, Sask., Amos of near Waterloo; Nelson, near Elmira and Eli on the homestead, and three daughters, Mrs. Seranus Martin, of Floradale; Mr. A. Martin of Peel township and Mrs. Edwin Snyder of Waterloo.

    The funeral takes place this (Thurs-day) afternoon from his late home to the Menonnite burying grounds of Upper Woolwich.

    Gingrich-Magdalena (Mollie) Bauman Gingrich was born in Waterloo Co.,. Ont,. Sept 18, 1856; died April 16, 1944; aged 87 y. 6 m. 29 d. She had been in failing health since January, gradually growing weaker until she passed away peacefully at the home of their daughter, Mrs. .Seranus Martin, Floradale. She was married Oct. 29, 1876 to Henry Shantz and moved to Marybourough Twp.,. where they lived until he died Aug 12, 1879. Two children were born to the union. On Oct 26, 1884 she was united in marriage to Moses Gingrich and moved to Peel Twp.,. where they resided until he died June 23, 1931. Eight children were born to the union. She continued to make her home with her son Eli on the old homestead until 2 1/2 years ago, when she made her home with her daughter. She leaves to mourn her departure 9 children; Hannah ( Mrs., Henry Brubacher) Elmire; Henry Cyrenius Shantz, Guernsey, Sask.; Rebekah ( Mrs. Ananias Martin) Peel Twp.; Blandina ( Mrs. Seranus Martin Floradale; Leah .( Mrs. Edwin Snyder) Waterloo Twp.; Ozias, Elmira; Amos, Waterloo Twp.; Eli on the old homestead. Also surviving are one sister ( Mrs. David Martin) 57 grandchildren, and 46 great grandchildren. One son, Urias, predeceased her 32 years ago. Funeral services were held April 19, at the North Woolwich Mennonite Church of which she was a member, in charge of Bishop Amsey Martin, assisted by Bro. George Brubacher.

    Swartz.--Abraham Swartz of Kitchener, Ont., was born Mar. 12, 1852; died at the age of 80 y. 7 m. Bro Swartz was converted in early manhood, joined the Mennonite Church and remained faithful to his faith until death. He was predeceased by his wife (Susannah Bergey), nearly 8 years ago. He is survived by 1 son, 5 daughters, 1 brother, 1 sister, 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Bro. Swartz was known for his optimism, ever looking on the better side of things, expecting things to come, and ever had faith in the Lord, the cause and His people. He will be missed in the church circles. The funeral was conducted at the First Mennonite church by Bro. C. F. Derstine, the pastor. Burial at Latchaw Cemetery, Petersburg, Ont.

    Susannah E. (Bergey), wife of Abram Swartz, was born Oct. 5, 1854; died Feb. 9, 1925; aged 70 y. 4 m. 3 d. She was united in matrimony to Abram Swartz Nov. 19, 1872. This union was blessed with ten children, four dying in infancy. She left a beloved husband, six children, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She has been a faithful member and much concerned for the welfare of the Church. She was a member of the Kitchener congregation. Her body was laid away at the Manheim Cemetery where Brethren C. F. Derstine and Manassah Hallman conducted the funeral service. Peace to her ashes awaiting the resurrection morn.
