    Dr. Edward J. Dreisinger

    Services for Dr. Edward J. Dreisinger, 72, 2214 S. Linden Ave., will be at noon Saturday at Bethany Presbyterian Church with Dr. Harry B. Parrott and the Rev. Walter Davis officiating. Dr. Dreisinger, pastor emeritus of Bethany Church, died at 5: 07 a.m. Wednesday at Horn Nursing Home in Wooster following an extended illness. He was born May 30, 1914 in Mimico, Ontario, Canada, to Will and Martha Borland Dreisinger. Dr. Dreisinger graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1942, and from the university's theological school in 1945. He also studied at the graduate school of the University of Toronto and the University of Chicago Federated Divinity School. Dr. Dreisinger received a doctor of divinity degree from Monrovia College in Liberia for his contributions to race and interfaith relations. Ordained in 1942, he served Baptist pastorates in Canada before coming to the United States from Toronto in 1951. Dr. Dreisinger was pastor of Bethany Church from 1971 to 1984, retiring with the title pastor emeritis. Prior to Bethany, he serviced churches in Euclid and Fairmont, W. Va. He was a former pastor of First Baptist Church in Canton, where he served on several boards including the Salvation Army, the Red Cross, the Greater Canton Council of Churches and the Canton Inner City Ministry. Dr. Dreisinger was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Knights Templar and a former Rotarian. Surviving are his wife, Fannie Margaret (Arnott), whom he married Sept. 12, 1942; two daughters, Mrs. Greg (Margaret Ann) Eddy of Vienna, Va., and Nancy Jeanne Dreisinger of Jefferson City, Mo.; a son, Thomas E. "Ted" of Jefferson City; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Evangeline) Solave of Don Mills, Ontario, Canada; a brother, Frank of Sun City, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. Friends may call 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairmount Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions to a mission of the donor's choice.

    Fannie Margaret Dreisinger passed away at Oak Tree Villas Nursing Home in Jefferson City, Missouri, on April 26, 2006.
    She joins her mother and father, Flora and William Arnott; her five brothers and sisters, Frank, Jack, Bill, Nell and Lillian Arnott; and her loving husband, Dr. Edward J. Dreisinger, in a better place.

    She was born October 13, 1912, in Toronto, Canada. A graduate of Moulton College, Fannie taught school for 10 years in Toronto and was a counselor for numerous summers at Camp Ouareau in Quebec, Canada. A talented basketball player, tennis player, and swimmer, she taught hundreds of children to love physical fitness. She married Dr. Dreisinger in 1942 and continued her days as a loving wife and devoted mother. She was also an active member of the Chapter CP PEO Alliance.

    She is survived by her three children, Margaret Anne Cole of Fairfax, Virginia; Thomas Edward Dreisinger of Detroit, Michigan; and Nancy Jeanne Dreisinger of Jefferson City, Missouri; as well as her three grandchildren, Graham and Nancy Ellen Eddy of Fairfax, Virginia, and Mariah Lyn Dreisinger of Jefferson City, Missouri.

    Fannies intense love for life and her deep faith were an inspiration to many. While her physical body is gone, her spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She fought a good fight, she finished her course, and she kept her faith.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29th at Cassaday Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. She will be buried next to her husband in Fairmount Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.

    William Dreisigner

    Mr. William Dreisinger died at his residence, 123 Lake Shore Road, Mimico, on Sunday, at the age of 58 years. About fourteen years ago he was knocked off a bicycle by a passing motorist. Complications set in about a year ago necessitating his discontinuing work and the complications resulted in his death on Sunday. He was engaged in the cleaning and pressing business. Mr. Dreisinger was born in St. Jacobs. He moved to Elmira when about seven years of age. Leaving Elmira he went to Hespeler and later to Toronto. Surviving are his widow, who before her marriage was Martha N. Borland, two sons, Frank and Edward, at home; one daughter, Evangeline, at home, one sister, Mrs. M. Weckelman of Rochester, N. Y. and one brother, Mr. Chris Dreisinger of Elmira. The funeral was held at 2: 30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto.
