    C. Schnenker, Photographer, King St.

The art of photography, possibly more than any other line of business, has made most rapid improvement during the past then years. Not a year has passed in that time but new methods and appliances have been invented to develop the art and make a photograph "a thing of beauty and a joy forever." Among the number prominently engaged in this line in Berlin is Mr. C. Schnenker, whose studio is located on King Street. This business was established 10 years ago by Mr. L. H. Wilder, who conducted it for seven years, when he was succeeded by the present proprietor. Mr. Schnenker is a thorough artist, and does all lines of the photographer's art including crayon, India ink, water color and oil work, and of course, the usual process by photography. The work executed by this gentleman is exceptionally fine and life-like, and his enlargements in crayon are works of art which it would be difficult to excel, while the prices he charges are remarkably low. The operating room is 12x35 feet in dimensions, and the reception room is of similar proportions. Mr. Schnenker is a native of Canada.

DEATH OF CHARLES SCHNEUKER - Charles W. Schneuker died very suddenly at his home at 340 Main Street, early this morning. When Mrs. Schneuker went into his room to call him at about seven-thirty o'clock, she found him dead in bed, death having evidently occurred at some time through the night, from heart failure. The deceased was sixty-one years old, and was employed as a commercial photographer by the Canada Furniture Company. He has been ailing for several months past, and his death did not come as a complete surprise to his family. The late Mr. Schneuker has lived with his wife in this city for some seventeen years. During that time both the deceased and his wife have won the esteem and respect of a wide circle of acquaintances. Mr. Schneuker was a man of noble character and was well liked in the concern which employed him, and by all those in the city who were acquainted with him. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Louise, of Grimsby; Lotta and Esther, of Toronto, and Alice at home, also one son, Charles, who is employed by the Grand Trunk Railway Company. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon. Services will be conducted at the late residence on Main Street at three o'clock in the afternoon, by Rev. (Capt.) Appleyard, of New St. Paul's Church, and interment will take place in the Anglican Cemetery.

He became a physician and held the position of Medical Officer of the Wakefield General Dispensary. In 1854, Joseph married Louisa Plint in Leeds and began a career that would cause him to travel about Yorkshire, before immigrating in 1872 to Ontario, Canada. Joseph settled his family in Waterloo County, where he took up ministering in the form of becoming a clergyman. It is unclear when he wrote "The Apostolic Origin of the Church of England." Retired and widowed, Joseph was living with his spinster daughter Marian in London City, Ontario, when he died of bronchial pneumonia at age 86 in 1915. His son, Ernest Joseph Beaumont would go on to become a local Registrar of the Supreme Court of Ontario.
