    Notes:

Sad Death at Doon - It is with the deepest regret that we are this week, called upon to record the unexpected death of Mr. C.O. Sizer, of Doon, a partner in the firm of the Messrs. Perine, of that village. The sad event took place on Sabbath morning last Mr. Sizer having only been ill since the preceding evening. The circumstances attending his illness and death are as follows: - Mr. Sizer, in company with Mr. Pedder, had started to attend a school meeting in the district. Mr. S. being then apparently in capital health. After having travelled together for some distance, Mr. S. suddenly complained to his companion that he had a strange feeling in his hand, and that it was getting perfectly numb. Mr. Pedder examined it and while doing so it became apparent that Mr. S. had lost the power of his arm altogether. It was resolved them to at once return to Mr. S's home; but by the time this was reached he was unable to get out of the cutter, and had to be carried into the house. For some little time, he was sensible, recognizing and speaking to members of his family, but about half an hour after being brought home he apparently received a second shock and lapsed into insensibility, from which he never rallied, and calmly passed away on Sabbath morning. Mr. Sizer was a gentleman very much respected in the neighborhood in which he lived, and his death is universally regretted. The funeral took place on Tuesday, and was largely attended, being conducted with Masonic honors, of which order the deceased was a respected member. The bereaved family, have the sincere sympathy of their numerous friends in their severe trial.
