    Notes:

    BALLANTYNE, CHARLES CLARK was born in London, the son of Professor James Ballantyne, once Moderator of the Presbyterian Church. He was educated at Harbord Collegiate, at St. Andrews College, Aurora, and received his degree in Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1914. He served overseas in the R. C. A. M. C. for the duration of hostilities, and on his return went into ophthalmology and otolaryngology. He practiced for a few months in Kitchener with Dr. William Wallace before opening his own office in Galt. In addition to his appointments to the local hospitals, he received the appointment as Honorary Oculist, Canadian National Institute for the Blind. In World War Two he served in the reserve with the 24th, Field Ambulance. He died suddenly on May 9, 1960, and was survived by his son, Dr. James Ballantyne, and two daughters.

    Charles Clarke Ballantyne was born Jan. 24, 1890, in London, Ont. Later he removed to Toronto, and acquired his preliminary education at St. Andrew's College. After matriculating from Harbord Collegiate in 1907 he spent one year in Arts, but later decided to enter Medicine, and joined the Year of '14.

    DR. CHARLES CLARKE BALLANTYNE ('01 - '05) On March 9th, 1960, Dr. Charles Ballantyne died in Galt, Ontario, where he had practised for many years. He served in the First War as a Captain in the Medical Corps. He had been a regular contributor to the Old Boys' Foundation over the past six years.

    Well Known Surgeon Dies Suddenly - Dr. C. C. Ballantyne, well known Galt eye surgeon, ear, nose, and throat specialist died suddenly yesterday while on duty at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. Dr. Ballantyne was well known to many Hespeler citizens by the specialized services he rendered. Funeral will be held at Central Presbyterian church tomorrow (Friday) at 2 o'clock.     March 9. Dr. C. C. Ballantyne, dean of practicing Physicians and Surgeons died suddenly while pursuing his duties at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. Born in London, Ontario, he graduated in medicine from Toronto University in 1914. After four years overseas with the R.A.M.C., he practised for a few months in Kitchener before opening his practice in Galt, where for forty years, he was an outstanding ear, eye, nose and throat specialist.D.D.-N.

    Dr. Ballantyne Dies Suddenly

    Dr. C. C. (Charlie) Ballantyne, 26 Brant Rd. S., died suddenly today about 10 a.m. at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. He was standing in the corridor conversing with another physician when death came. He had not been ill.

    Dr. Ballantyne, an eye, ear, and nose, and throat specialist, had practised medicine in Galt since shortly after World War One. He was originally in partnership with the late Dr. Wallace who died many years ago. Dr. Ballantyne served overseas with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in the First World War. He was a graduate of Toronto University. Dr. Ballantyne was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.Surviving are his wife; a son, Dr. J. F. Ballantyne of London; two daughters, Mrs. Don Morrion (Helen) and Miss Myril, both of Toronto. Funeral arrangements will be announced Thursday
