    Jacob M. Studor Passed Away Sunday
    Came to Timmins in 1911. Served in Great War.


    A respected and well-known resident of Timmins for many years passed away on Sunday, December 28th, when Mr. Jacob M Studor at 370 Cedar street north, who served in the Great War had numerous friends throughout this district, coming to Timmins late in the year 1918, and residing here since that time. Some years ago, he was a member of the Timmins town coumell and gave good service to the municipality in this capacity.

    The late Mr. Studer, was born in Dundee, Ontario and had worked in the steel shop of the Hollinger mine for many years, giving up this work only two years ago. His death came as a shock to a wide circle of friends all of whom extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family in its loss. He would have been seventy-seven years old in June of next year.

    Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from Walkers Funeral Home and were conducted by the Rev. W. M. Mustard of the Timmins United Church, interment was made in the Timmins cemetery. Left to mourn his has are five sons, Peter, of Capreol, Arthur of Rouyn, Maxwell and Walter of Timmins, and ? in the Canadian Army in England, and two daughters Mr. D. Moore ? of 11 Patricia Boulevard and mrs. Coderre (Rudy) of Peterborough. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Alfred in Didsbury, Alberts and three sisters in Minnepolis.

    Timmins Loses Another Worthy Citizen in Death of Mrs. J. M. Studor

    Resident of Timmins Since 1911. During Last War With Husband and Three Sons Overseas was Noted for Work for Red Cross and Other Patriotic Causes. Funeral Services Yesterday.

    Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at four o'clock, from the home, 114 Tamarack Street, for the late Mrs. Jacob M. Studor, who passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday afternoon. The late Mrs. Studor was a real old-timer of the North Land and her death has saddened numerous friends, who showed their esteem and respect, and sympathy for the bereaved family with beautiful floral tributes.

    Pallbearers were six sons of the late Mrs. Studo -Peter. of Capreol, Arthur, of Rouyn, Maxwell, Walter, Hubert and Charles of Timmins, and funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. M. Mustard of the Timmins United Church.

    The late Mrs. Studor was born Margaret Louise Kaufman, near Woodstock, Ont., in April, 1868, and was seventy-one years old. She became the bride of Mr. Jacob M. Studor in Southern Ontario fifty-two years ago, celebrating her golden wedding anniversary in Timmins two years ago.

    The family resided for several years in Callandar, where many of children were born, before moving to Timmins in 1911, having resided here since that time. The late Mrs. Studor was well-known to both old-timers and newcomers to the town, and was a popular member of such organizations as the imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies' Aid of the Timmins United Church, being both interested and able in church and community work.

    During the last war, with her husband And three sons. Walter, Arthur and Maxwell, serving overseas, Mrs. Studor was noted here for the patriotic work accomplished, knitting innumerable socks for the soIdiers and doing much other effective work for community and country.

    Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Mr. Jacob M. Sudor; six sons, Peter, of Capreol, Arthur of Rouyn, Maxwell, Walter,'Hubert and Charles of Timmins; two daughters, Nellie (Mrs. David Moore) of 11 Patricia Boulevard, Timmins; and Ruby (Mrs. Coderre), of Peterborough: and three brothers and two sister all in the United States.

    No More. - The familiar figure of our late townsman, Mr. Peter Studer, will be seen traversing our streets no more. He died at the comparatively early age of 57 years on Wednesday morning. Mr. Studer had been perceptibly failing for some time past and had been very low during the past week, so that his death; was not entirely unexpected. The de-ceased was born in Ellice township in 1838. Previous to moving to Hamburg he had kept hotel at New Dundee, for a long number of years, and is pretty well known throughout this part of the country. He leaves a wife and ten Children, five sons and five daughters, to mourn his departure. The funeral takes place to-day, at two o'clock in the after-noon to the village cemetery. The deceased will be buried with Oddfellowship honors, having been a member of Nith Lodge No. 96, I. O. O. F., New Hamburg.

    The funeral of the late Peter Studer last Friday afternoon was well attended. The Oddfellows came out in a body and headed the procession. A short service was held at the house previous to procedure to the Lutheran church, where the pastor of that congregation, Rev, B. Mueller, preached a very appropriate sermon, after which the remains of our late citizen were taken to the village cemetery for interment
