    Korea Veteran Was on Way To Visit Family

    An inquest has been ordereed into the death of Pt. Edward Tieleman, who was killed in a car accident, on No. 7-8 highway early yesterday. The inquest will be held Nov. 15, Coroner Dr. L. A. Macklin of Stratford said today.

    The young soldier stationed at London, On., was driving home to spend the weekend with his family when the car he was driving left the road and crashed into a tree Shakespeare.,

    A passenger, Norman W. Gilick, 25, of RR1 Shakespeare, is in critical condition in Stratford hospital.

    Tieleman, a member of the Royal Canadian Ordnance-Corps, London, was believe killed instantly.

    Ontario provincial police said the mishap occurred about 12: 55 a. m.

    HAS BAD CONCUSSION

    The passenger, thought to a hitchiker, is in Stratford General Hospital with severe concussion, a fractured left jaw and other undetermined injuries.

    OPP Constable K. A. McKay of Stratford detachment later identifield the injured man.

    Surviving Tieleman are his wife, the former Constance Pfeiffer, and two children, David, 2, and Dean nine months, of 121 Madison Ave., South: his father Frank Tieleman: a brother Jack, and a sister Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Boucher,

    Born in Wallaceburg, he was a son of Frankl Tieleman and the late Emma Tieleman., He enlisted in January, 1951, and was assigned to the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.

    SERVED IN KOREA

    He served in Korea in 1951 and 1952 and two months ago was transferred to the ordance coprs. He expected to be posted to Petawawa shortly.

    Pt. Tieleman will be buried with military honors here Wednesday afternoon. The body is at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home until 3: 30 o'clock when Mrj. Valee, army chaplain at London will conduct the service. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery.

    Edward married Constance Ellen "Connie" Pfeiffer 27 Dec 1952, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Constance (daughter of Lorne Philip Pfeifer and Constance Helen Harley) was born 17 Nov 1931; died 14 May 2017. [Group Sheet]
