    Notes:

To meet Mr. Fred DeBus, even casually, is to observe that he is one of the brightest business men in the place. Genial but alert, one is not surprised to know that his grain, flour and feed business is a prosperous one. Mr. DeBus deals in flour and feed and coarse grains principally. But he has several other strong lines. He is a large dealer in potatoes and makes a particularly strong bid for seeds, a commodity always in demand among the farmers. The modern agriculturist is very careful of what kind of clover, timothy, mangold, and turnip seed he purchases. He wants clean, reliable seed, for any other may cause him untold annoyance and loss. One way to safeguard himself is to go to a dependable dealer and the farmers about New Hamburg are fortunate in having a reliable dealer like Mr. Debus. They recognize the fact and patronize him liberally. His supply of standard stock foods and binder twine is another feature of his large store.
