    Notes:

    Richard R. Gehl of 203 Kent Ave. Kitchener, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 74. Born in St. Clements, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reinhardt Gehl he was employed at Canadian Blower and Forge Co. for 40 years prior to retiring in 1965. Mr. Gehl was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 50. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pearl Puttock, in 1948 and by one daughter. Surviving are four sons, John and Donald, at home, Richard of Kitchener and Frank of Toronto, five daughters, Mrs. James (Ruth) McDonnell, Mrs. Edgar (Shirley) Harvey and Mrs. Dale (Barbara) Wilson, all of Kitchener. Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Bruggeman of Terrace, B.C. and Mrs. Reginald (Jean) Michaud of Sudbury; one brother, George of London; four sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Rosetta) Metz, Mrs. George (Carrie) Meinzinger and Mrs. Anthony (Johannah) Graf, all of Kitchener and Mrs. John (Margaret) Brenner of St. Clements, and 23 grandchildren. The body was at the Gruhn Funeral Home where the rosary was recited on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and prayers were said today at 8: 30 a.m. followed by removal to St. Joseph's RC Church for requiem high mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

    Reinhardt Gehl

    The death occured yesterday, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Metz, 197 Benton street, of the latter's father, Reinhardt Gehl, formerly of Heidelberg. The deceased, who was a veterinary surgeon by profession, had practised at Heidelberg, over a hug period of years and was well known and highly respected by a wide circle of friends, thruout the district. He had been in failing health for the past 11 months and three weeks ago suffered a slight stroke, from which he failed to recover, he is survived by his wife, five daughters; Miss Mary Gehl of Paris, Ont :Mrs. Geo. Meinzinger, Mrs. W. Braniff, Mrs. Aaron Metz, and Mrs. Anthony Graf of Kitchener; four sons, William of Mishawaka, Ind., Charles of Kitchener, Richard of Kitchener and George of Bamburg, also one sister, Mrs. Peter Geridot of Carlsruhe, 53 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased some years ago by two sons, Corp. J. A. Gehl of the 118th. Batallian, who was killed overseas and Isaac Gehl who was instantly killed at the National Furniture factory. The funeral will be held from, 197 Benton street, on Friday, at 10 o'clock in the morning and interment will be made in Woodland cemetery.

    MRS. REINHART GEHL

    The death occurred of Mrs. Mary Anne Woods Gehl, widow of the late Reinhart Gehl, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Braniff and Mr. Wm. Braniff, 51 Henry street, yesterday.

    The deceased was born at Woolwich, but lived the greater part of her life, in Heidelberg, coming to this city eight years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, five years ago

    The late Mrs. Gehl, had been in failing health for the past four months. She is survived by four sons, William of Miskawaka, Indiana, Charles, George and Richard of this city and by five daughters, Mary of Dundee, Mrs. George Meinzinger, Mrs. W. H. Braniff, Mrs. Aaron Metz and Mrs. Anthony Graf, all of this city. The late Mrs. Gehl, was predeceased by two sons, one, Corporal George Gehl, who went overseas with the 118th Battalion, being killed in action, in 1916 and another son Isaac, died as the result of an accident 22 years ago. The deceased had 56 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

    Also surviving are two brothers, John Trussler of Goderich and George of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Moebus of Pittsburg and Mrs. Henrietta Habermehl of Farmington, Mich.

    The funeral will he held from the above address, on Wednesday morning and will proceed to St. Mary's church, for service at nine o'clock. Interment will be made in Woodland cemetery.
