    FATAL ACCIDENT.

    Fred Charles Wolfe, Struck by the Limb of a Falling Tree and Instantly Killed.

    A very sad accident occurred on the farm of Mr. Noah Weber, opposite Frank Shuh's, about three miles north of Waterloo, yesterday evening about 5 o'clock. Fred Charles Wolfe and his brother Christian, sons of Mr. Christian Wolfe, Queen street, Waterloo, were felling trees in the bush. They were trying to make a tree fall in à direction opposite to which it leaned, when a gust of wind blew the tree down. They ran to get out of its way but the younger brother, Fred, was struck on the side of the head by a timb a few inches in thickness and instantly killed, his neck being broken. The elder brother was also struck on the leg from which he is yet lame. Deceased was about 18 years of age, and was always a dutiful son and very industrious. He was brought bome in a sleigh about an hour after the accident. The grief of the parents was most heart rending when they learned of the sad and untimely death of their son. We are sure they will have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their terrible and sudden bereavement.

    OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

    Death of Mr. Christopher Wolfe at his Home, Queen Street Monday Morning - A Resident of Waterloo for Over 50 Years.

    Death removed another of Waterloo's oldest citizens in the person of Mr. Christopher Wolfe, Queen street, who died at 7.30 o'clock on Monday morning at the advanced age of 75 years, 5 months and 4 days. Deceased had enjoyed good health until last winter, but had been unwell since April. He was a market gardener and carried on a successful business in Waterloo.

    The late Christopher Wolfe was born in Epfenbach, Duchy of Baden, Germany, in 1830, and came to Canada with his father and two sisters in 1846, his mother having died when he was twelve years old. He settled, in Waterloo in the same year.

    In 1855 he was married to Anna Wolfe, who still survives, they having, celebrated their golden wedding two weeks ago. To them were born a family of sixteen children, six of whom survive. His father and one sister died 22 years ago. The surviving children are John, Christopher,
    Herman, Mrs. Ermel, Flora and Ida.

    The funeral took place from his late residence, corner of Queen and Princess streets, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock to St. John's Lutheran church or service, thence to Mount Hope cemetery for interment.

    DEATH OF MRS. CHRIST. WOLFE

    The death occurred at Waterloo on Saturday of Anna Wolfe, relict of the late Christopher Wolfe, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 12 days. Deceased had been ill for the past six months.

    The late Mrs. Wolfe was married in Waterloo 52 years ago and the union was blessed by a family of sixteen children, six of whom survive, viz., John, Elzabeth (Mrs. Wm. Ermal), Bloomingdale, Florence at home, Christopher, Edith and Herman. Three brothers also survive, Jacob, Alex. and Menno Wolfe of Waterloo.

    Mrs. Wolfe was a consistent member of the St. John's Lutheran church and a lifelong resident of this town.

    The funeral was held from the residence corner Princess and Queen streets, on Tuesday afternoon to St. John's Lutheran church for service, thence to Mount Hope cemetery for interment.
