    SCHNARR, Margaret Julianna August 26, 1915 - October 27, 2010 Mom went home to be with Dad and celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary last night, October 27, 2010. She was 95. Devoted mother of Ronald Schnarr (Dorothy deceased), Joan Ziegler (Duncan), Jack Schnarr (Wendy deceased). Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren Laurie, Leslie, Louise, Luanne, Leighe, Lyndie, Dave, Cathy, Jim, Jodie, Jill and Jay as well as thirty-one great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry Schnarr in 2002; parents, Frank Berger and Wilhelmine (nee Matthies); and by her brothers and sisters. Her strong will and determination saw her through the depression, a World War and led her to be a resourceful and independent woman who was able to care for herself and her family into her later years. In her spare time she loved dancing, gardening, playing cards and board games, watching the Blue Jays and many game shows. But her greatest love was her family and following their many accomplishments. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Curtis and all of the nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their care of Margaret. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Tom Moisan officiating. Following the funeral, a reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Following the reception, for those who wish to attend, interment will take place in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the War Amps or a charity of your choice and can be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com

    At Riverbend Place, in Cambridge, on Saturday, September 25th, 1993, in his 88th year, Bert Spooner, beloved husband of his first wife, the late Annie (nee Fairclough) and his second, wife, the late Jessie (nee McCarthy). Dear father of Bernice (Mrs. Bert Carey of Guelph, Marion (Mrs. Jack Donnelly) of Ocala, Florida, Joan (Mrs. John Greenlee) of Hamilton, Dorothy (Mrs. Ron Schnarr) of Waterloo and Richard and his wife Lynn of Cambridge. Loved grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of James Spooner of Newmarket. He was predeceased by one son Joseph and two grandsons Robert Greenlee and Joseph Schnarr and eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Spooner was born in Galt. He was Past President and Life Time Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Galt Branch #121. He was a member of the Highland Light Infantry of Canada and he served overseas with the First Canadian Division during W.W. 2, from 1939 to 1945. Friends will be received at COUTTS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 96 St. Anndrews Street, Cambridge, on Monday, from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 1-2 p.m. A Legion Service under the auspices of Royal Canadian Legion, Galt Branch #121, will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, at 7: 00 p.m. Funeral Service will be in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, at 2: 00 p.m. Rev.     GALT, Mrs. Wilbert Richard Spooner Sr. of 68 Brooks St., died Saturday, at her home. She was 64. Born in Manchester, England, she came to Galt in 1911. The former Annie Fairclough, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband; one son Wilbert Jr. of Galt; four daughters, Mrs. H. (Bernice) Carey of Guelph, Mrs. V. (Marion) Bragg of Lockport, N.Y., Mrs. J. (Joan) Greenlee of Hamilton and Mrs. R. (Dorothy) Schnarr of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Merrall and Mrs. Edith Moss, both of Galt, and 19 grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Joseph, and another sister. The funeral will be held at the Coutts and Son Funeral Home, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery.

    At the home of his son, Harry, 14 Bridge Street East, Kitchener, on Friday, Sept. 20, 1974, suddenly following a heart attack. John Edward Schnarr, age 82 years and formerly a resident of Oak Street for many years. Mr. Schnarr was born in Waterloo, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Schnarr, he had been a resident of the Twin City area all his life and owned and operated barber shops in the Twin Cities for many years. He retired in 1970.

    Mr. Schnarr was a member of St John's RC Church, past-president of the Holy Name Society of the church and a member of the Waterloo Legion. Husband of Ida Eleanora Schneider, who predeceased him in June, 1971, father of Delores (Mrs, Walter Schmitt), Marie (Mrs. Arthur Lang), Harry and Gerald Schnarr, all of Kitchener; brother of George and Madeline (Mrs. Hector Lavery), both of Kitchener and Mary of Sarnia. Nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Schnarr was predeceased by a daughter Rosana and by three brothers.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, where the parish rosary will be recited Sunday, at 8 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday at 9: 30 a.m., followed by funeral mass at St. John's RC Church at 10. Interment Parkview cemetery, Waterloo.

    Mrs. J. Edward Schnarr

    Mrs. J. Edward Schnarr of 25 Oak St. died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was 82.

    The former Ida Eleanora Schneider, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schneider. She was born in Kitchener and lived here all her life.

    Mrs. Schnarr was a member of St. John's RC Church, the Catholic Women's League and the Confraternity of the Holy Family.

    Surviving are her husband to whom she was married in Kitchener July 30, 1912; two sons, Harry, Waterloo, and Gerald, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Delores) Schmitt, and Mrs. Arthur (Marie) Lang, both of Kitchener; one brother, George of Kitchener, and four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Lena) Seftel, Mrs. John (Katherine ) Germann and Mrs. Harry (Genevieve) Knechtel, all of Kitchener, and Sister M. Cajetan (Thekla) of Waterdown; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Rosalia, two brothers and five sisters.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Saturday where the rosary, will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Monday at 9: 30 a.m. after which removal will be made to St. John's RC Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.
