Snider.- Lorne, son of Wellington and Jennie (Pirie) Snider, was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont.; died of a heart attack at West Montrose, Ont., Mar. 12, 1977; aged 76 y. He was married to Violet E. Feick, who survives. Also surviving are one son (James) and 2 sisters (Edna-Mrs. Horace Mann and Janet-Mrs. Clayton Feick). He was preceded in death by 4 sisters (Florence, Lenore, Mrs. Ida Buschert, and Mrs. Sarah Schmidt) and 2 brothers (Ralph and Urbin). He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. Funeral services were held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home on Mar. 15, in charge of Glenn Brubacher; interment in Memory Gardens.

SNIDER, Lorne -- At his home, Route 1, West Montrose, on Saturday afternoon,suddenly following a heart attack, Lorne Snider, age 76 years.Mr. Snider was born in Waterloo Township, a son of the late Wellington Snider and the former Jennie Pirie, He farmed at Route 1, West Montrose, for many years and had attended First Mennonite Church.He is survived by his wife, the former Violet E. Feick; a son James, athome and two sisters Edna (Mrs. Horace Mann) and Janet (Mrs. Clayton Feick),both of Kitchener. He was predeceased by four sisters, Florence, Lenore, Mrs.Ida Bushart and Mrs. Sahar Schmidt, and by two brothers, Ralph and Urban.Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W.,Kitchener. Funeral service in the chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m., with Rev Glenn Brubacher officiating. Interment Memory Gardens.

SUICIDE AT WINTERBOURNE

Mrs. James Pirie Takes Her Life With A Razor

A general gloom has been cast over the community in and around the village of Winterbourne, by one of the most sorrowful occurrences that ever happened in the neighborhood. About 4 p.m. on Saturday, Mrs. James Pirie committed suicide, by cutting her throat with a razor in the root cellar of their own barn. The deceased had undergone an operation some time ago at the Guelph Hospital and her condition was such as to necessitate another operation being performed in the immediate future. This had such a defecting effect upon the mind of Mrs. Pirie, as to render her despondent, she preferring to end her existence in the manner she did, to suffering another operation. The deceased lady was 54 years of age and has long been a highly respected member of the Presbyterian Church. The bereaved husband and family have the most sincere sympathy of the community. The funeral took place at 10 a.m., Monday.
