    LOBSINGER, Edward

    At St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, July 26, 1987, age 78 years, of 87 King St. E., St. Clements. Mr. Lobsinger was a member of St. Clements RC Church, a member and past president of the Holy Name Society, a member of St. Clements volunteer fire department for 35 years and a former member of Wellesley Township Council. He was one of the recipients of the Wellesley Township Centennial Medal in 1967, coached minor and senior baseball and hockey in St. Clements for 50 years, was a former member of the St. Clements Community Centre Board and was a veteran of the Second World War. Mr. Lobsinger was retired from the Red and White Food Markets in St. Clements. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Kay) Dietrich; dear father of Larry and his wife Eileen, Tom and his wife Ronda, all of Waterloo, Pat Maclnnis of Elmira, Neil and his wife Ginny of St. Clements and Linda and her husband Albert Woelfle of Jackson, Miss. He is also lovingly remembered by his ten grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Querin of Kitchener and Mrs. Irene Ottman of Hawkesville. Predeceased by his parents, Catherine Stumpf and Louis Lobsinger; five brothers and two sisters. Mr. Lobsinger's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 9: 45 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at St. Clements RC Church at 10: 30 a.m. (Thursday), with Rev. W. L. Ryan officiating. Interment in St. Clements RC cemetery.

    Louis Lobsinger

    ST. CLEMENTS. Louis Lobsinger, 75, died at his home here Sunday afternoon. He had been ill for some time and for the past few months was confined to his home.

    Mr. Lobsinger was born at Carlsruhe where he spent the early part of his life. He has been a St. Clements resident for 40 years. Deceased was secretary of the local C.M.B.A. branch and a member of St. Clements R.C. church and Holy Name Society. He was a church usher for forty years. Mr. Lobsinger was a member of the St. Clements board of trustees for eight years. During his residence here, deceased worked at lumber sawing, masonry, carpentry and prior to his retirement served as caretaker of St. Clemens church for 11 years.

    Surviving are his wife, nee Cathine Stumpf, four sons and four daughters, Mrs. Herbert E. Schnarr of St. Clements; Wilfred of Kitchener; Joseph of Detroit; Oscar of Niagara Falls; Ed. at home, Mrs. Albert Querin and Mrs. Stan Mikol of Kitchener and Irene at home; four brothers and three sisters survive, John of Walkerton; Frank, of Kitchener; Henry and Joseph of Carlsruhe, Mrs. Joseph K. Brenner and Mrs. John Kuntz of St. Clements and Mrs. Catherine Fohrnwald of Estevan, Sask.

    member of the Christian Mothers. Surviving are four sons, Wilfred of Kitchener, Joseph of Detroit, Oscar of Niagara Falls and Edward of St. Clements; four daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Anna) Schnarr of St. Clements, Mrs. Albert (Loretta) Querin and Mrs. Stanley (Mary) Mikol of Kitchener and Mrs. Earl (Irene) Ottman of Hawkesville; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Louis, died in 1941. Prayers will be said at her home Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by requiem high mass at St. Clement's RC Church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Msgr. William Becker officiating. The body is resting at her home

    Notes:

    Louis Lobsinger came first to Louisiana and made his way north to St Agatha where he got married to Katherine and lived for a time before moving north to Bruce County with everything they owned including the livestock. One child was born along the way, and they finally settled in Carlsruhe where they had 18 children.

    Mr. Peter Stumpf attended the funeral of his father, Mr. J, Stumpf, who died very suddenly at his home in St. Clements last Sunday after his return from church. He had reached the ripe old age of 83 years and there are left to loss five sons mourn his and two daughters.
