    GERBER, Mrs. Aaron J. (Mary)

    At her residence, Bell Street, Shakespeare, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1983, Mary Steckley, in her 74th year.

    Predeceased by her first husband, Emmerson Kipfer in 1940; beloved wife of Aaron J. Gerber; dear mother of Laverne Kipfer of RR 1, Milverton, Delford Gerber of Shakespeare, Walter Gerber of RR 1, Shakespeare, Mrs. Norm (Eileen) Wettlaufer of New Hamburg, Mrs. David (Ruth) Steinmann of RR 2, New Hamburg, Mrs. Bill (Emmalene) Bell of Shakespeare; sister of Reuben Steckley of Millbank, Solomon Steckley of Bluevale, Mrs. Laura Kipfer of Shakespeare. Twenty-seven grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren also survive.

    Predeceased by brother, Menno; sister, Magdalena Ropp and by one grandson in infancy.

    Friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St., N., Tavistock, Thursday (today), 7-9 p.m. and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Ontario Street, east of Stratford, Saturday, Oct. 15, 1983 at 2 p.m. Interment in South Easthope cemetery, Shakespeare. Donations to the Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle Building Fund or a charity of one's own choice would be appreciated.

    SOLOMON KIPFER

    Solomon Kipfer, 84, of Mill Street, Milverton, died Tuesday, October 29th, at his home after a brief illness.

    He was born in the Township of Mornington, November 3rd, 1878, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kipfer.

    He farmed in the Township of Ellice, retiring 32 years ago.

    He moved to Milverton 18 years ago and prior to that had lived in Tavistock.

    He was a member of Poole Mennonite Church.

    His first wife, the former Nancy Nafziger, predeceased him in 1930.

    Surviving is his second wife, the former Catherine Jutzi, whom he married April 26th, 1932; a son, Lloyd, of R.R. 1, Stratford; three daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Florence) Boshart, of Milverton; Mrs. David (Sylvia) Schwartzentruber, of R.R. 2, Milverton; and Mrs. Menno *Sarah) Steckley, of R.R. 1, Milverton; a sister, Mrs. Annie Albright, of Kitchener; 35 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by three sons, Gordon, Emerson and John; one daughter, Mrs. Jonas (Mary Inoda) Zehr; five brothers, Christian, Abraham, John, Nicholas and Menno, and three sisters, Rachel, Mary and Mrs. David (Magdalena) Schwartzentruber.

    His body rested at his late residence until noon on Friday when removal was made to the Poole Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m.

    Rev. Herbert Schultz officiated, assisted by Rev. David Jantzi and Rev. Chris Brunk.

    Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

    The pallbearers, all grandsons, were Glenn Schwartzentruber, Burnell Kipfer, Laverne Kipfer, Stanley Steckley, Roy Zehr and Paul Boshart.

    Relatives and friends, attending the funeral, came from Flint in Mich., Kitchener, Stratford, Tavistock, Baden, St. Agatha and the surrounding district.

    Notes:

    The death took place at her home in Ellice Township last Friday night of Nancy Nafziger, wife of Mr. Solomon Kipfer at the age of 50 years. The deceased was a sister-in-law of Abraham Kipfer, who lost his life in the fatal railway crossing accident at Kitchener last Saturday and had not yet been informed of her death. The funeral of the late Mrs. Kipfer was held on Tuesday.
