    STEVER, Virginia - Went home to her Lord, very peacefully, on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener.

    Virginia will be forever missed by her husband, Clarence Stever and her two daughters, Carolyn Stever of Vancouver and Jennifer Troupe and her husband Bill of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by her granddaughter, Amanda Troupe. Survived by her sister, Vera Hohner and her brothers, Glen Deichert and his wife Marlene, Fred Deichert and his wife Alice and Lloyd Deichert. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Hamilton.

    Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Clara Deichert; three sisters and two brothers.

    Virginia taught elementary school for the Huron and Waterloo County Boards of Education. She volunteered as an Associate in Diaconal Ministry for the Lutheran Church, serving in North Carolina for one year. She was a past president of the Horticultural Society of New Hamburg and was a member of the local bible study groups and prayer chains. She was one of god's mighty soldiers. Virginia appreciated the beauty of a garden, the peace of a river, the comfort of a friend, the laughter of a child, the sound of the rain, the embrace of a hug and the power of prayer. She was a beautiful person.

    A private committal service is being held in Zurich, Ont., today (Thursday, May 11). Interment St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join us on Friday, May 12, 2000 at 2 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 23 Church St., New Hamburg for a memorial service, Pastor Judy Harris officiating.
