Mrs. Lockie was born in Listowel and belonged to St. John's Anglican Church, Kitchener and St. John's Ladies Anglican Auxiliary. Beloved mother of Janie Lockie of Toronto. Predeceased by her husband, Bill and a son, Andrew and her parents, Andrew and Wilhelmina Ament. At the request of Mrs. Lockie, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Bob Schroeder officiating. Interment Parkview cemetery, Waterloo. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Heart and Stroke foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

    W. Andrew Ament, 88, of 40 Heins Ave., died Sunday at his home after a lengthy illness. Born at Hawkesville, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ament, he had resided in Kitchener for the past 44 years. Mr. Ament was a salesman. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church and the Canadian Order of Foresters. His marriage to the former Minnie Stever, who survives, took place in North Mornington Township in 1897. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. N. W. (Grace) Lockie of Kitchener and two grandchildren. Two sisters and six brothers predeceased him. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel funeral Home where service will be held Wednesday at 2: 30 pm, Rev. James R. Horne of St. John's Anglican Church will conduct the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

    Mrs. W. Andrew Ament, 87, of 44 Katherine Cres. died Wednesday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the former Wilhelmina Stever, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Stever of Mornington Township. Mrs. Ament had lived in Kitchener for 48 years, and was a member of St. John's Anglican Church and its Women's Auxiliary. Her husband died in 1961; and a sister and three brothers also predeceased her. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. N.W. (Grace) Lockie of Kitchener; a brother, Emanuel Stever of Preston; four sisters, Mrs Margaret Eich of Waterloo, Mrs. Lydia Daniells, Mrs. Sophia Gerth and Mrs. Emma Gies, all of Kitchener, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. G.D.A. Gray and Rev. T.E. Finlay. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery, Listowel.

    Notes:

    Mr. James Lockie died a sudden death in Waterloo on Friday evening. He had been in Toronto on business and was attending a meeting of the Hospital Board in the evening. On the way home, he complained of feeling unwell and collapsed at the side of the road. He was driven home in a carriage, went into the house and lay down on a sofa, where he died a few minutes later. Mr. Lockie was highly respected by the public and held several important offices. He was inspector for many years of the Mercantile Fire Insurance Company, and when the main office moved to Toronto, he was named president of the company. He was also president of the Waterloo Horticultural Society and an active member of the Hospital Board. He was 65 years old. He was buried Monday afternoon, with an exceptionally large number attending.

    LINWOOD, Nov. 27, - The funeral of Frederick W. Stever, who died at the home of his son, Emmanuel, one mile west of Linwood, was held this afternooon from the son's residence to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood. The deceased had been ill for a week prior to his death with bronchial pneumonia. He was in his 81st year and came to Canada withn 17 years old. He settled near Wellesley where he was married in 1872 to Margaret Fink who predeceased him some years ago. For the past 35 years he farmed three miles west of Linwood.

    He is survived by four sons and six daughters, as follows: Mrs. John Stable, Waterloo, Mrs. Amend, Kitchener, Mrs. George Eidt, Waterloo, Joshua, of Kitchener, Mrs. Henry Gerth, Kitchener, Mrs. Morris Danels, Kitchener, Mrs. Morris Danels, Dorking, Mrs. Charles Giles and Emmanuel of Linwood, and Solmon of Garrington, Alterta.
