    Notes:

    Huber, Clarence Wilson, son of Simon and Amanda (Bontrager) Huber, was born at Elida, Ohio, Aug. 30, 1902; died at Guelph (Ont.) General Hospital, Feb. 21, 1967; aged 64 y. 5 m. 22 d. In 1930 he was ordained to the office of deacon at South Boston, Va. On Mar. 1, 1925, he was married to Violet Ida Baker, who survives. Also surviving are 12 children (Elizabeth--Mrs. John Burkholder, Martha--Mrs. Walter Good, Gertrude, George, John, Florence, Emma, Paul, Mabel--Mrs. Franklin Roth, Phoebe, Carl, and Ruth), one brother (Ira), one sister (Mary), his stepmother (Mrs. Beulah Huber), and 23 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were one daughter and 2 grandchildren. He was a member of the New Hamburg Conservative Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 23, with Elmer Grove, Paul Landis, and Curtis Cressman officiating.

    HUBER, Violet Ida, daughter of Melvin and Laura (Michael) BAKER, was born in Stevensville, Ont., Dec. 7, 1902; died at her home in New Hamburg, Ont., Mar. 6, 1986; aged 83 y. She was married to Clarence W. Huber, who died in February 1967. Surviving are 8 daughters (Elizabeth - Mrs. John Burkholder, Martha - Mrs. Walter Good, Mrs. Gertrude DeLacy, Florence - Mrs. Laurie Riehl, Emma Huber, Mabel - Mrs. Franklin Roth, Phoebe - Mrs. Glen Koch, and Ruth Huber), 4 sons (George, John, Paul, and Carl), 41 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one brother (Arthur), and 2 sisters (Gladys - Mrs. Emanuel Hoffman and Mrs. Ethel Becker). She was a member of New Hamburg Conservative Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Mar. 8, in charge of Elmer Grove and Timothy Martin; interment in the Conservative Mennonite Cemetery.

    Huber, Simon Good, son of Jacob B. and Elizabeth C. (Good) was born Nov. 22, 1878, in Allen Co., Ohio; passed away Nov. 25, 1955; aged 77 y. 3 d. On Nov. 24, 1901, he was married to Emma Amanda Bontrager, who departed to her eternal rest on Nov. 16, 1937. To this union were born the following children (Clarence W., Alma, Ont.; Mary I., Dayton, Va.; and Ira J., Alma), who survive him. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. On March 26, 1938, he was married to Beulah Swope Wenger, Dayton, Va., who survives. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters (Joseph, Waynesboro, Va.; Anna Huber, Lima, Ohio; and Lydia Lehman, Elkhart, Ind.). As a young man he united with the Mennonite Church to which he was faithful until death. He was much concerned and active in the work of the church. On March 16, 1938, he was called and ordained to the office of deacon. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 27 at Weaver's Church near Harrisonburg, Va., in charge of Hiram Weaver, James Shank, Lloyd Horst, and Daniel Lehman. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Huber.-Emma Amanda, daughter of J.J. and Martha (King) Bontrager, was born Jan. 7, 1876, in Fairfield Co., 0.; died Nov. 16, 1987, near Harrisonburg, Va.; aged 61 y. 10 m. 9 d. Nov. 24, 1901, she was united in marriage to Simon G. Huber of Elida, 0. To this union 3 children were born. She united with the Mennonite Church early in youth, to which faith she remained steadfast to the end. Mother was in her usual health, and was about the duties of the day when suddenly stricken, at 11 A. M. Medical aid was summoned, but to no avail. Death was due to angina pectoris. Although the shock was severe, we humbly submit; knowing that He doeth all things well. Surviving are her husband, 2 sons, and 1 daughter (Clarence of S. Boston, Va.; Mary at home, and Ira of Mt. Crawford, Va.), 7 grandchildren, 3 brothers (J. P. Bontrager of Atwater, Calif.; A. C. Bontrager of W. Liberty, 0.; C. F. Bontrager of Cleveland, 0.), 2 sisters (Mrs. S. H. King and Mrs. J. B. Kaufman of West Liberty, 0.), besides many other friends and relatives. Funeral services were conducted from the home and at Weaver's Church by the home ministers. Interment in cemetery nearby.

He is survived by his wife Laura (Michael) Baker, and 7 children, (Mrs. Emmanuel Hoffman of Hawksville; Mrs. Fred Fretz, Mrs. Wesley Becker, and Arthur Baker of Kitchener; Mrs. George Schleffel., Mrs. Orval Neureuther of Humberstone; and Mrs. Clarence Huber of South Boston, Va.; a brother (George Baker of Buffalo, N.Y. ); and 2 sisters (Mrs. Rosanna Noyes and Mrs. Truman Burgar of Stevensville.) Brother Baker accepted Christ years ago and remained faithful until the Lord called him home. Funeral services were held in First Mennonite Church, Kitchnener, Ont., in charge of Brother J. B. Martin and S. F. Coffman.

    Baker, Laura, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Michael, was born Feb. 27, 1871, at Sherkston, Ont.; passed away at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fretz, St. Jacobs, Ont., on March 24, 1956; aged 85 y. 26 d. She moved to Kitchener from Ridgeway, Ont., in 1930, and to St. Jacobs in 1949. She was converted and united with the Mennonite Church 1905 and remained a faithful member until her death. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Baker, in 1943, and by a daughter, Virginia-Mrs. George Schleffel, in 1954. Surviving are 5 daughters, Ella-Mrs. Orville Neureuther, Port Colborne; Violet-Mrs. Clarence Huber, Alma; Gladys-Mrs. Emmanuel Hoffman, Hawkesville; Clara-Mrs. Fred Fretz, St. Jacobs, and Ethel-Mrs. C. W. Becker, Kitchener; one son, Arthur, Breslau; 2 brothers, Charles Port Colbourne and Albert, Welland; 31 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services at the St. Jacobs Church on March 27 were conducted by Roy S. Koch assisted by Noah Hunsberger.
