    Joseph Heeley Died Monday

    Joseph Leonard Heeley, 389 Fountain St., Preston, died late Monday night at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, where he had been removed earlier by ambulance. Deceased had been ailing for only a short period, and word of his death came as a shock to numerous friends throughout the community.

    Born in Walsall, England, the late Mr. Heeley came to Preston as a boy and resided here all his life. A carpenter by vocation he was maintenance foreman at Preston Springs Gardens.

    Deceased was a member of St. John's Anglican Church.

    Surviving are his wife, Patricia Hughes; two sons, Daniel and Stephen, both of Preston; two brothers, William of Hamilton, and Robert of Peterborough; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gill, Preston, and Mrs. William Mitchell, (Violet) of Preston. The late Mr. Heeley is resting at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queen St., Preston, where funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. Committal service will be in Park Lawn Memorial Chapel.

    JOSEPH L. HEELEY Tribute to memory of Joseph Leonard Heeley, 389 Fountain Street, Preston, who died at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital on Monday after a short illness, was paid at largely attended funeral service conducted at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon, with committal service in Park Lawn Memorial Chapel. Canon R. T. Appleyard of St. John's Anglican Church, of which deceased was a member, officiated. The pallbearers were Edward, Robert and Jack Heeley, Gordon Cushing, Donald King and Harry Hughes.

    PRESTON - Joseph Leonard Heeley, of 389 Fountain St., Preston, died Monday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt.

    Mr. Heeley was born in Walsall, England, and came as a boy to Preston where he has lived ever since:; He was maintenance foreman at Preston Springs Gardens and a member of St. John's Anglican Church.     Mrs. William Heeley

    PRESTON, Well-known resident of Preston for 40 years, Mrs. William Heeley, 79, died suddenly, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Mitchell, 1351 King street, Preston, last night. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Word of her death came as a shock to friends. Mrs. Heeley, (nee) Sarah Ann Taylor, was bornin England, Oct. 21, 1874 and came to Canada, directly to Preston in 1913. She was married in England Feb. 28, 1900. Her husband predeceased her nine years ago. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. Surviving are three sons, Thomas Heeley of Hamilton; Joseph of Preston and Robert of Acton; two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Elizabeth) Gill of Ayr, and Mrs. William (Violet) Mitchell of Preston; two brothers, Robert Taylor of Galt and Charles Taylorin England; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Elsie, predeceased her in 1908 in England. The body is at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Friday, at 2 p.m. Rev. B. T. Appleyard will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery.

    HENRY HUGHES

    The funeral of Henry Hughes, who died at his home on Fountain street, Sunday morning at eight o'clock, was held at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon from the late residence. Interment was made in the Preston cemetery. Mr, Hughes, who was in his 47th year, was well known locally having resided here for the past 24 years. Up until the time of his illness he was in the employ of Clare Bros. of Preston. He was born in Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, England and came to Canada when about 14 years of age, living for two years on a farm in Dumfries township. Surviving are his wife, his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Henry Hughes, Fountain street, five children, Henry, Esther, Mary, Patricia, and Evelyn, five sisters, Mrs. 0. Holt of London, Mrs. F. Husband of St. Catharines, Mrs. A. Leenhouts of New York, Mrs. E. Addis and Mrs. H. Antonow of Preston and one brother, Joseph of New York .

    HENRY HUGHES

    PRESTON, Nov. 23 - Henry Hughes, for many years a resident of Preston, died Saturday in London at the Victoria hospital where he was removed about two weeks ago. He was in his 81st year. Born in England, the late Mr. Hughes came to Preston when a young man. For many years he was employed by the corporation and was therefore very wellknown. His wife predeceased him two years ago. Two sons Henry and John also predeceased him. Surviving is one son, Joseph of Georgia; five daughters, Mrs. A. Lennouts of Holland, Mich., Mrs. A. Antanow of Preston, Mrs. Fred Husband and Mrs. George Holt of London and Mrs. Oliver Addis of Galt. There are 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also surviving. The body is resting at H. K. Stager's Funeral Home on Dover street until 2.30 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, when the funeral will take place. Interment will be made in Preston Cemetery.
