VanAMERONGEN, Albert "Bert" - After a short battle with cancer, passed away with his family and best friends at his side at the Lisaard House, Cambridge. Survived by wife, Barb (nee Burton); son, Dennis (Christine); daughter, Denise and step-sons, Chris and Lee (Thompson). Opa will be fondly remembered by grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler. Remembered by his sister, Ann; his brother, Tom (Marina); mother-in-law, Doreen Burton and sister-in-law, Pat Ibele. Predeceased by his parents, Tina and Gerit of Hamilton; father-in-law, Fred Burton; brothers-in-law, Ben Ibele and Mike Burton. Albert was a proud member of the Victoria Senior Monday Bowling League and the Rockway Senior Harmonica Club. As per Bert's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Cambridge on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at the Lisaard House for their care and compassion that was shown to both Bert and Barb during his last few weeks. Albert was a best friend and husband of 22 years and has gone home to be with the Lord. Thank you also to Bev and Randy Ouellette for being there through this most difficult time and for being very special friends.
