    SAGE, Lorne Morley Jr. Passed away peace fully, after a valiant struggle with Cancer at Sunnyside Home on Sunday, October 31, 1999. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Edith (nee Charters) of 49 years. Loving father of Vernon and Bonnie and her husband George Barnard. Best Grandpa to George and Natalie Barnard, Kim Barnard, Darcy and Karrie Leigh Sage of Manitouwadge Ont. Dad is survived by his broth ers Bill, Fred and his wife Lillian, Earl, and Elmer, and his sisters Olive, Arlene and her husband Bob. Dad was predeceased by his parents Lorne and Ada Sage and by his brothers, Vernon Russell, Blake, and Ernie. Dad was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked for the Lake Erie and Northern Railway for 21 years and then for the Ministry of the Environment until he retired in 1990. Friends and relatives will be received at WESTMOUNT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1001 Ottawa Street, South, Kitchener, Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Service to be held in the chapel on Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Hathaway of Sunnyside Home to officiate, assisted by Mark Perry. Cremation followed by interment at Roseville Cemetery will take place in the presence of Lorne's family at a later date. The family has requested that following the service that relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for a time of fellowship in the reception facilities at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Sunnyside Home, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.     SAGE, Edith May (nee Charters)
    Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her residence, the Westmount Nursing Home in Kitchener, on January 24, 2010 at the age 87. Beloved wife of Lorne Sage (1999). Amazing Mum to Bonnie Barnard and her husband George of Kitchener. Loving Gramma to George and Natalie Barnard, Kim and Trevor Riehl, Darcy and Darline Sage and Kerry Sage. Cherished Great-Gramma to Jaden, Sage, Seth, Riley, Jannelle, Emma and Coran, special Aunt to Nan and sister to Kay. Mum was the daughter of Edward and Ada Charters and was born in Brantford on July 1, 1922. She later met and married Lorne Sage. They began their married life in Brantford eventually settling in Cambridge. Mum worked outside the home all her life until the birth of her first grandchild at which time she chose to devote her energies to him. She also learned to drive at the age of 55. She welcomed each new grandchild with enthusiasm and love often referring to them as her little "preciouses". Mum was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Charlton (1994), her husband Lorne (1999) and her brother Ernie Charters (2009). Visitation will be held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. with visiting one hour prior to service and reception to follow. Interment will be held at a later date. We want to thank the staff at the Westmount Nursing Home, and especially the staff from the Forest Hill Unit, for their wonderful support to Mum and the family.     LORNE M. SAGE

    Tribute to the memory of Lorne Morley Sage, Sr., of RR 2. Galt, well-known sportsman and hunter, was paid at a largely attended funeral service Friday afternoon at 3: 30 o'clock from the W. R. Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St. Interment followed in Blair Cemetery.

    Mr. Sage, who farmed most of his life at RR 2, Galt, died at the Coutts Pavilion Freeport, Tuesday evening. He was 82 years of age.

    Pallbearers were: Herb Wiliets Charles Thorne, George Rhody and Harry Brodhaecker all of RR 2 Galt, Irving Wilson and Stuaut Lake, both of RR 2, Ayr.

    MRS. ADA SAGE


    A long-time resident of the Dickie Settlement area, Mrs. Ada Sage, died Thursday at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

    Mrs. Sage, the former Ada Schweitzer, was born in Mann heim, Ont. and lived in the Dickie Settlement area until six years ago when she moved to RRI, Ayr.

    She was a member oof the Roseville Evangelical Church.

    Predeceased by her husband, Lorne, in September, 1961, Mrs. Sage was also predeceased by two sons, Vernon and Russell. - Survivors include
    two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Arelene) Jackson of Cambridge (Blair) and Miss Olive Sch weitzer of Cambridge (Galt); seven sons, Ernest and Earl of RR 1, Ayr: Blake of Toronto; William of Spruce Grove, Alta:: Fred and Lorne of RR 2.

    Cambridge (Galt) and Elmer of Leduc, Alta; one brother, Ezra of Sundre, Alta and one sister, Selina, of RR 1, Ayr..

    Also surviving are 10 grand children and seven great grandchildren.

    The deceased is resting at the Coutts and Sons Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew's St., Cambridge (Galt) where funeral and committal services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.

    Interment will follow in the Blair Cemetery.

    Mrs. Annie Sage

    BLAIR, Jan.. 14. One of Waterloo's best-known and most respected citizens, Annie McKellar, widow of William Sage, died yesterday at the home of her grandson and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sage, Dickie Settlement, at the age of 90 years. Mrs. Sage, during 50 years of residence in this area, won the respect and admiration of numerous citizens. The Sage farm was the setting for numerous picnics and the deceased, even in her advanced age, maintained the sparkling personality which earned her the reputation of a splendid hostess. Born in Belmont, Ont., she lived in West Oxford, before making her home in this district Her husband predeceased her three years ago. Until recent weeks, Mrs. Sage had remained active and continued her domestic duties at her farm home. Illness two weeks ago, however, resulted in taking up residence with her grandson, Ernest Sage. Surviving is a son, Lorne Sage, Dickie Settlement: nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Blake, predeceased her in 1940 The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Horne, Preston, where the funeral will take place tomorrow, at 3-30. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
