    Schacht, Brian Keith - Passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Sunday, August 3, 2008, at the Brantford General Hospital, in his 66th year. Dear friend of Gail, Julie and Virginia. Loving father of Cindi (Kevin) Claydon and grandfather of Chloe. He will be remembered also by Erik Lund. Brother of Cammie (Barb) and uncle of Stephan and Karen. Predeceased by his parents, Percy and Olive (nee Koch) Schacht. As golf and work were Brian's life, he too will be missed by his golf buddies and many friends at Sears where he was dedicated for over 35 years, retiring in 1998. The Schacht family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 1: 30 p.m. until the time of Brian's memorial service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Schacht served in the Canadian Army as a Sergeant, was a charter member and former president of the Dundas Optimist Club, a former member of the Milverton Lions Club and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 509 Kitchener. Beloved husband of Olive (nee Koch); dear father of Brian of Brantford, Cammie and his wife Barbara of London, Ont. Loving grandfather of Cindi Marie, Karen and Stephen. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Clara (nee Kropf) and one brother, Clayton.     Henry A. Schacht

    Milverton - Henry A. Schacht of Milverton died Sunday at his home after a heart attack. He was 81. Born in Kitchener, he was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Carl Schacht. He had been a resident of the Twin Cities for many years before moving to Milverton seven years ago to live with his son Percy. He was employed at Murawsky Furniture Co., before retiring in 1958. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Clara Kropf in January, 1947. He was also predeceased by one son Clayton, three brothers and a sister. Surviving besides his son Percy are two brothers, Frederick and Paul, both of Kitchener; two sisters Mrs. James (Annie) Cameron of Kitchener and Mrs. Paddy (Louise) Farrell of Windsor; and two grandsons. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, where the service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. A. A. Schweitzer of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

    Mrs. Henry C. Schacht

    Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Henry C. Schacht, 54, of 135 Homewood Ave., died at St. Mary's Hospital late last night. The former Clara E. Kropf she was the daughter of Mrs. Annie Kropf, Kitchener, and the late Christian Kropf and was born at Kitchener, May 19, 1882. He marriage to Henry Schacht, who survives, took place at Kitchener, June 5, 1912. Surviving besides her husband and mother are two sons, Clayton and Percy J., both of Kitchener; one grandson and one brother, Gordon Krupp, Kitchener. The remains are resting at the late residence, 135 Homewood Ave., where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Internment will be made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

    Christian Kropf, 79, died early yesterday at his late residence, 54 West Ave., following a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 14, 1865 in Wilmot Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kropf. He attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Surviving besides his wife, the former Annie Schuster, are one son, Gordon of Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Schacht of Kitchener, two brothers, Joseph of Port Huron, Mich., and Noah of Elmira; also a sister, Mrs. Henry Kinsie of Kitchener. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Remains are resting at the late residence, 54 West Ave., from where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1: 30 p.m. followed by a church service at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2p.m. Burial will be made in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. Dr. John Schneider, pastor of the church will officiate.

    Mrs. Annie Kropf

    A lifelong resident of Kitchener, Mrs. Annie Kropf, 54 West Ave., died suddenly of a heart attack at her home last night. She was 77. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuster, she was born June 9, 1873. She married Christian Kropf who predeceased her in 1945. Mrs. Kropf was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Gordon, Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. [sic] Mary Schuster, Kitchener, and Mrs. J. B. (Minnie) Blatchford, also of Kitchener. One daughter died in 1947. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Remains are at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Monday at 3 p.m. and internment will be made in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. John Schmeider, pastor of the church, will officiate.
